Brian Austin Green defends dating several women after splitting with his wife of 10 years Megan Fox

Brian Austin Green has been criticized for being seen on dates with Courtney Stodden then Tina Louise after splitting from his wife of 10 years, Megan Fox, in May.

But the Beverly Hills, 90210 star told the podcast Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn that he has a right to be seeing other women already as Fox romances Machine Gun Kelly.

‘I’m not playing anybody. My life is just much more under a microscope than somebody else’s. Isn’t that dating?’ he offered. ‘Aren’t you supposed to talk to multiple people? It doesn’t mean I’m a s***** person. That’s what you’re supposed to do, meet people and experience life.

Green then added, ‘When you start finding commonalities with someone, then it becomes something bigger. You have to be willing to get out there and put yourself out there. But I get judged for it, I think, unfairly.’

The ladies had a large age gap. Stodden is 25-years-old and Louise is 39-years-old; Brian is 47-years-old.

He also said that it was an organic process.

‘What people normally do when they get out of [a relationship] is they date. They talk to multiple people at once, some people use dating apps, they talk to multiple people, they go on multiple dates, they spend time with people until you feel a connection with someone then something builds from there,’ he said.

And Brian revealed he has been using Instagram as a dating app, since his marriage ended.

He said: ‘I met both of them [Courtney and Tina] on Instagram. I had no idea that Instagram was so much of a dating site until I was single. Up until then, I posted pictures of benches, trees, the ocean and my kids doing stuff here and there. I was a total married dad on it.

‘All of a sudden I started getting DMs when Megan and I separated. [The DMs] started flowing in instantly, no shame in their game at all. I would get these DMs, and when you’re going through something like that and you’re hurting, you feel better when it seems like somebody is taking your side.

‘I would make the mistake of responding and saying, “Thank you.” Not knowing I was opening some sort of door because that was never my experience of Instagram before then.

‘I’ve been single this whole time. Dating, I guess. I’m open to meeting somebody. I’m focused on myself and healing with all of this and my kids.’

He also said that he did not know who Courtney was until after they went on a date in June. ‘I remember when I hung out with Courtney getting a call from somebody afterward saying, “There are pictures of you and Courtney Stodden,” and I was like “How do you know her name?” I had no idea who she was or any of the past anything,’ the star said.

‘I had done no research at all. It wasn’t until I was told, “This is the past, this is who this person is, this is what you might have to experience.” Then you have that moment of, “Oh sh*t, what have I done? Sh*t.” Hindsight again, 20/20. I wish I would have known beforehand.’

Brian said that Courtney ‘was a really nice person’ and did not want to bad mouth her.

But he did not appreciate the video Stodden shared with Brian in a hot tub. When asked if he felt ‘a little betrayed’ by that he said, ‘Yeah, of course.’ He argued she knew it was ‘out of context’ and thinks she ‘wanted to create a story and create some issues and something to be talked about and keep that going.’

As far as her sharing the revenge song, he said that was ‘f**king insane’ and he noted their lives are very different: ‘I’m 47 with 4 kids and I’m not out walking my dogs in bathing suits and sh*t like that.’

He also said during the podcast how  he learned his Transformers actress wife was dating singer Machine Gun Kelly and it was not through the press.

‘I found out in my own way. And that’s as much detail as I’ll give you on that one. I didn’t read about it or anything like that,’ said the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star who has three children with the siren.

As far as dealing with the split, the actor said it is going fine. ‘I think it’s going as well as it can,’ said Brian.

‘There’s no rule book to it. There’s no way of doing it right or doing it wrong. We are learning as we go. The important thing for us is just communicating as much as we can,’ said Green.

And he is aware that their three kids – Noah, seven, Bodhi, six, and Journey, three – will deal with the impact of their split.

‘I think the realization for us is we can’t take the view that it won’t affect the kids, because it will,’ he said.

‘I think it’s up to us, and parents in general, how it affects your kids. Whether it’s a really negative experience or it’s okay and they feel safe in it and feel loved. Everyone still loves and respects everyone, things are just different. It’s not bad different, it’s just different,’ he continued.

‘I wish Megan the absolute best in everything. I want her to be completely happy, for her, for the kids. That’s super important,’ added Green.

‘No one wants to be around somebody that’s unhappy, nothing good comes out of that. That’s a terrible situation. We are taking it day by day. This is insane, this happened at an unfortunate time that nobody could have predicted with quarantine and the virus and all of that. The news cycle is a bit bigger than we were prepared for. It is what it is,’ he added.

This comes after Fox and Kelly went Instagram official last week.

The 30-year-old took to the social media platform with a quirky black and white photo of the couple on Tuesday along with a romantic caption.

In the mirror selfie snapped by MGK, the celebrity duo pulled funny faces together and both playfully stuck out their tongues.

Megan was looking slightly off camera in the picture wearing a black sports bra that highlighted her toned tummy with a pair of high waisted black sweatpants.

The 34-year-old actress’ long raven locks were down in soft waves and she sported bold brows and contoured cheeks.

Her hiphop star beau, whose real name is Colson Baker, stood with his arm wrapped around Megan’s waist wearing a black T-shirt and pants.

He captioned the snap: ‘waited for eternity to find you again.’

Up until this point, the only images that the Cleveland native has shared of the Jennifer’s Body star have been from his Bloody Valentine video, in which she starred as his love interest, and the occasional post to his story.

This latest loved up image comes after the couple recently headed off together on a romantic vacation to Puerto Rico.

Prior to their getaway, the pair gushed about their romance in their first joint interview with LaLa Kent and Randall Emmett on their podcast Give Them Lala… With Randall.

Megan said she knew in her gut that something was going to spark between them when she found out Colson had been cast in on of her movies.

‘I could feel that some wild s**t was going to happen to me from that meeting, but I wasn’t yet sure what,’ she added. ‘I just felt it like, deep in my soul – that something was going to come from that. So then, we met on set.’

The This Is 40 star even went so far as to say, she could see something akin to a soul mate in the rapper, or what she calls a ‘twin flame.’ She explained: ‘I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time.’
