Lady Gaga gushes about her friendship with Ariana Grande while struggling to find female friends

They joined forces to co-write and perform the chart-topping single Rain On Me.

And Lady Gaga had noting but praise for her friend and collaborator Ariana Grande during her appearance on CBS Sunday Morning.

The 34-year-old singer and actress also opened up about how difficult it can be for women in the entertainment to make new friends.

Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) sighed with affection and said, ‘I love that girl,’ after the topic turned to their Rain On Me collaboration.

In their video for the song, the two dance in a post-apocalyptic wasteland while maintaining a sense of hope. 

They reprised the single with a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, in which Gaga showed off her light-up mask with a sine wave mouth while Ariana wore a more conservative design.

But even if she made one great new friend, she still has difficulty making new relationships with other women.  

‘You know how hard it is to make a female friend in this business?’ Gaga asked the interviewer Lee Cowan on CBS Sunday Morning.

‘In this business, having a female friend is like watching a pig fly,’ she continued.

Gaga’s longtime choreographer Richy Jackson agreed with her assessment of Ariana and told People that the artists became ‘like sisters’ while working on the Rain On Me video. 

‘Ari allowed herself to come into our world,’ he continued. 

The Thank U, Next singer ‘spoke to Gaga about how Gaga saw the video, how she saw the fashion, the hair, the makeup, the dancing,’ he said. ‘She was really just free to come into the House of Gaga and perform and give her best, through our eye and through our lens and through our choreography.’

The Poker Face singer shared her praise for Ariana publicly when the two won multiple awards for Rain On Me at the VMAs.

‘Me and Ariana are truly soul sisters,’ she said after accepting her first award of the night. ‘Girl, this is for us. We both been through some s**t together, but we were willing to share that with each other. Ari, I love you.’

Ariana also praised the occasional actress in a since-deleted post celebrating her birthday in March.

‘Happy birthday to a literal angel that has changed my life in many ways!’ she captioned a photo of the two getting close.

‘I’ll tell u more about it later but … u make my heart feel so full and happy and understood @ladygaga. Wishing u all the joy in the world today and every day!’
