Chloe Grace Moretz debuts prosthetic baby bump on the set of her upcoming film Mother/Android in Boston

Her recent roles have mostly been off-screen thanks to a slew of animated films and a scripted podcast.

But Chloë Grace Moretz showed she was ready to get back in front of the camera on Thursday, when she was seen on the set of her upcoming science fiction–thriller Mother/Android.

The 23-year-old actress showed off her surprising new appearance, as she wore a faux baby bump while filming in Boston.

She sipped on an iced coffee as she exited her trailer for some extra energy ahead of the next take.

Mother/Android is written and directed by Mattson Tomlin, who previously wrote the Netflix thriller Project Power and who has done uncredited work on the script of the Robert Pattinson–starring The Batman.

Chloë stars as Georgia, a pregnant woman living in a future where her country is at war with artificial intelligence, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

With her boyfriend Sam, Georgia must cross into territory controlled by the androids on her way to safely deliver her baby.

Despite the movie’s sci-fi trappings, Tomlin’s film was inspired by his parents’ struggles during the Romanian Revolution.
