Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have their first date night at home following the birth of their daughter

They welcomed their first child together less than a month before.

And Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, both 27, were ready for a break from the usual parenting duties as they went on their first date night since becoming parents.

The lovebirds tried to be responsible amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, so they cooked their own tasty meal at home and showed off the results Thursday night on Instagram. 

Gigi shared multiple photos and videos of the preparation to her Insta Stories as she made a chicken piccata recipe that the cookbook author Tieghan Gerard posted on her Insta Stories the day before.

After covering her chicken breasts in flour, the model browned them in a skillet with oil. 

‘Made @halfbeakedharvest’s browned sage butter chicken piccata with mushroom pasta tonight (highly recommend),’ she captioned the clip. 

After removing the chicken from the pan, Gigi zoomed in on her sage butter as it turned brown, which would be part of the sauce for the chicken.

‘Heaven,’ she wrote as the recipe fell into place.

Next up, she let the chicken continue cooking in the mixture once the butter was fully brown and the sage leaves were lightly charred. 

Afterward, the older sister of Bella Hadid revealed the completed meal, which combined the chicken with thick pasta and mushrooms, though the food was a bit hard to see through her filter, which looked as if it was shown on an old television screen.

‘mom & dad’s first date night,’ she wrote.

‘(she’s in the other room w Oma but miss her sm lol),’ she added, referring to her daughter, whose name hasn’t yet been released.

Gigi previously used the informal German term Oma to refer to her late grandmother, but now her mother Yolanda Hadid has adopted the term. 

Gigi and Zayn both proved they were responsible parents as they chose to stay in for their date rather than venturing amid the pandemic.

The two are reportedly staying with Yolanda at her rural Pennsylvania farmhouse, where they have been staying together for most of the pandemic.

Gigi’s sister Bella also lived there for months, but recently returned to New York City.

Despite the stresses of the transition to motherhood, things seem to be going well for the catwalk star so far.

‘Gigi is very tired but is already an amazing mom,’ a source told E! News earlier this month. ‘The first couple of weeks have been a hard transition but she hasn’t complained and is very elated to be a mom.

‘They feel peaceful staying at [the Hadid farm] for now. Gigi wants the most privacy for their baby and wants to be able to raise her privately.’ 

The insider added: ‘Yolanda is helping them tremendously. She is their built-in nurse and they are so grateful to have her.’

Gigi’s sister Bella also seems to have taken immediately to her aunt role. 

‘Bella was very emotional first seeing her and has already been having fun shopping for her and dressing her up,’ the source said.
