Jessica Biel leads stars urging fans to vote in the presidential election

Jessica Biel led the celebs taking to Instagram this Friday and urging their fans to vote in the upcoming presidential election.

The 38-year-old actor who has endorsed the Democratic candidate Joe Biden wore a T-shirt reading: ‘I Dissent, I Vote.’ 

‘This one’s for #RBG,’ Jessica wrote in the caption name-checking Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who succumbed to cancer last month at the age of 87. 

‘Please please PLS join me and vote on November 3rd. 100% of the proceeds from this tee supports @EraCoalition for Women’s Equality, which fights for all of those most impacted by systemic inequalities,’ she wrote. 

‘Use your voice and your style to support constitutional equality for all because it shouldn’t be a dream – it’s a right. Link in my bio.’

The presidential election November 3 pits the Republican incumbent Donald Trump against former Vice President Joe Biden.

Jessica and her husband Justin Timberlake are longtime Democrats who hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton when she ran against Trump in 2016.

Recently Nina Dobrev also took to her Insta Stories and encouraged Americans to exercise their franchise in November.

She could be seen modeling a T-shirt that read simply: ‘Vote,’ and in case the message was in any doubt she also wrote: ‘Pls VOTE’ over her post.

Jessica and Nina both live in California where the online and mail-in voter registration deadline is in 10 days.

California also allows same-day on-site voter registration on Election Day itself, as well as during the early voting period from October 5 to November 2. 

Another celebrity to join the choir was Amy Schumer who lives in New York where the registration deadline is this Friday.

‘I’m voting for the marginalized people who are victims of the caste system we live in #ImVotingFor Iwillvote.com,’ she wrote.

Her post accompanied a picture that went viral this June, posted by many who thought it showed immigrant children under foil blankets in cages in the U.S.

However a Reuters fact check established the picture was of a Des Moines art installation about the child detention policy rather than of actual children.

Three other states have their voter registration deadline the same day as New York – namely Idaho, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.

However North Carolina will also allow same-day registration during its early voting period which is from October 15 to 31.

Idaho will also allow same-day registration for early voting, the dates of which vary county to county, and on Election Day.

Samuel L. Jackson appeared in a new ad for the Biden campaign called ‘Same Old’ that connected the president’s attacks on mail-in-ballots to the historic disenfranchisement of black Americans.

‘If your vote didn’t matter, they wouldn’t try so hard to take it from you. Vote early. Vote like your life depends on it,’ Samuel said.

‘I’m exercising my right to vote and you should to, not because I want you to, but because he doesn’t,’ he added of Trump.

Kathryn Brolin popped over to her own Instagram recently to plug some ‘VOTE’ T-shirts from her own brand MIDHEAVEN DENIM.

The designs on the tops are by the artist Cubby West Spain who is based out of her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. 

‘Almost out of our gorgeous VOTE tees for a second round. What an incredible response,’ wrote the pregnant celeb on one of her posts.

‘Clearly shows how fired up people are to get involved in this election and see the value and power in sharing their individual voice.’

Her social media has also included a picture of herself and her movie star husband posing up together in her patriotic tops.

Josh’s had the word ‘VOTE’ on it being held up by a series of hands of different skin colors to reflect the diversity of the nation.

Lily Collins posted an Instagram picture showing herself and her boyfriend Charlie McDowell holding up their mail-in ballots.

‘Couples who vote together, stay together. We’re voting by mail and voting early!’ the Tolkien star wrote in her caption.

‘If you’re voting by mail in California, make sure your ballot is postmarked before Election Day and sign up to track your ballot (link in my bio!).’

Billy Porter urged fans to vote while plugging his new duet with Stephen Stills covering the Buffalo Springfield song For What It’s Worth. 

Zoe Saldana posed up a storm with an ocean background while modeling a multicolored T-shirt that read: ‘VOTE.’

‘Your vote is your ultimate power. The best way you can ensure your beliefs and values are represented is by registering to vote, and by voting in the upcoming election!’ she wrote in her caption.

‘This election it is critical that we all show up, more powerful than ever. I am proud to support @PrabalGurung, who is partnering with @WhenWeAllVote to encourage us all to use our voice and VOTE! #vote #vote2020.’

Eva Longoria posed on social media and wrote: ‘Smiling and ready for the weekend because I already mailed in my ballot! #Vote #WhenWeAllVote #EveryVoteCounts.’

Mandy Moore was answering fan questions on her Insta Stories when she declared herself ‘One million percent’ for Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.

‘I just voted yesterday. I dropped off my ballot. I hope all of you have a plan in place to vote. Hopefully you can vote early,’ she said.

The This Is Us star and singing sensation advised her fans: ‘Whatever makes you feel comfortable and safe, but do it.’

Meanwhile Heidi Klum flashed her I Voted sticker in a video she posted to her Instagram page, writing: ‘Please VOTE’ and adding: ‘It’s up to US.’

Beyonce’s mother Tina Lawson posted a picture of herself in patriotic red, white and blue attire including a Stars And Stripes scarf.

‘Here iis info: RoKi Design, a small woman owned business in Houston created this scarf to support and promote the Biden Harris campaign and to encourage EVERYONE to VOTE!!’ she wrote in her caption.

Tina added: ‘100% of the net proceeds from the sale of each scarf will be donated by RoKi Design to Fair Fight a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting voter suppression.’

Wayne Knight reprised his iconic Seinfeld role as the smarmy mailman Newman for an ad criticizing the Trump administration’s reforms to the U.S. Postal Service.

Newman decries ‘a systematic, premeditated assault on the U.S. mail by President Trump and his so-called Postmaster General.’

At the mention of the postmaster general Newman spits onto the ground and says: ‘That guy’s never even licked a stamp.’

He fumes: ‘They’ve had the unmitigated gall to try to slow down the mail when everybody knows that the only person who can slow down the mail is a mailman!’

In true Newman fashion while giving his speech he munches a turkey leg and steals a snack out of one of the packages he is meant to be delivering.

‘Look, I’m not a political person. Last time I voted was for flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins. But take it from me, a postman, if you wanna vote early and in person, do it. If you wanna vote from home, apply for your ballot and get it in as soon as possible,’ he says before two men in suits uproot the mailbox behind him.

In a fury Newton says to the camera: ‘All right, Donnie, you know those tax returns, the ones you don’t want anyone seeing? You should never have mailed those.’
