Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed she ‘couldn’t speak’ when she met Rihanna at The BRITs because she was so star-struck on Little Mix: The Search.

The singer, 29, joined her bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, in their search for the UK’s next big band on Saturday’s episode.

The star made the revelation as the girls discussed how they still get star-struck when they meet celebrities, with Perrie saying she ‘had never been such a mess’ when she met actress Kate Hudson.

Leigh-Anne then chipped in and said: ‘For me it was Rihanna.’

Jesy then quipped: ‘Oh when she said ‘I like your hair’ and you couldn’t even speak’, while Leigh-Anne agreed saying: ‘I couldn’t speak’, before doing an impression of her mumbling when she met her. 

Perrie then said: ‘I don’t think we’ll ever be cool will we and not freak out when we meet people we love!’

The bandmates then discussed their experiences at various BRIT awards as Jade admitted they ‘usually stick to themselves’ and just sit in the corner ‘eating the free bread’.   

Perrie added: ‘We’re like four fan girls sat there at the BRITS, like we won tickets to be there’, before Jade said ‘We usually stick to ourselves and eat all the free bread!’          

Little Mix fans were left delighted last month night after the girl group’s new TV show launched, which saw the girls on the hunt for a boyband and auditioning hopeful potentials.

However as well as loving the performances, many viewers praised the programme for being ‘much more personal than other talent shows’ adding the band’s individual personalities made it all the better. 

Fans were dazzled by the show, which was pre-recorded before the COVID-19 lockdown, with dozens praising Little Mix for adding their own twist on the already established talent TV genre.

On the show, Little Mix are looking to form six bands, a boy band, a girl vocal group, a girl dance group, a mixed group, vocal and instrumental and R&B and rap. 

Little Mix: The Search is on BBC 1 at 7pm every Saturday.
