Mick Fanning and his fiancée Breeana Randall welcomed their first child in August.
And on Sunday, the 39-year-old Australian surfing legend revealed his delight after finally being able to travel overseas to introduce his newborn to his partner’s Los Angeles-based family.
‘Xander’s first flight was a dream, like his dad he got on the plane and slept!’ Mick wrote alongside a plane selfie with his boy.

‘Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions Breeana’s mum wasn’t able to make it to Australia for the birth or to meet him so we decided to make our way to California for a few months,’ he wrote.
‘Mothers and daughters have a special bond so to see @mommadeb22 and Papa Fresh finally meet Xander was so special.
‘It’s tough times around the world but it’s what you do for family that matters,’ he concluded.
Upon arrival the couple were greeted by Breeana’s family who were waiting with a poster which read, ‘Welcome Xander. Paper & Dede love you.’

Earlier this week, Mick shared a milestone moment as he took Xander to the ocean for the first time on Tuesday.
A subsequent image showed the athlete carefully lowering Xander’s legs into the water.
‘Little man dipped his feet in the ocean for the first time today. He was pretty relaxed,’ Mick proudly wrote in the caption.

Mick and Breeana welcomed their first child Xander on August 10.
Announcing the happy arrival, Mick penned a heartfelt Instagram post written from Xander’s perspective along with a cute photo of the newborn.
‘I’m extremely strong, healthy and calm all because of my beautiful Mama Breeana is a full-on superhero,’ read the caption.
‘Mama was so calm, relaxed and in the zone. Dada calls her his Zen Wonder Woman and is so in awe of how strong and amazing she is,’ it continued.
