‘We smelt so bad’: Candice Warner says there were NO showers on SAS Australia – and reveals how she coped with the physical challenges 12 months after giving birth

Candice Warner has revealed what she struggled with most while filming Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

The 35-year-old couldn’t believe there were no showers available on set for the contestants.

‘I thought maybe we would get cold showers at least. We smelt so bad!’ she said on Monday.

Candice, who gave birth to her third daughter Isla 12 months before, knew the physical challenges would be tough, so she worked out in the gym diligently before filming began. 

‘I had a baby a little over 12 months ago. In my pregnancy I lost all my core strength and struggled to do one pull-up or push-up after giving birth,’ she said. 

‘I knew I needed to work on that so I went hard in the gym. I also ran a lot and tried walking once a week with a 25kg pack on.’

She said: 'In the end it was the most mundane exercises that would test my character. Packing a Bergen each day sounds like an easy task but believe me it's much harder than it looks'

Before adding: ‘All in all it was a true test, but I loved it!

The military-style show will see the contestants having to endure sleep deprivation, interrogation techniques and physical challenges.

The lingerie model will be joined by a growing list of celebrities including convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby and publicist Roxy Jacenko.

Filming for SAS Australia begun earlier this year in Queenstown, New Zealand, but production was relocated to the NSW Snowy Mountains due to travel restrictions being enforced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SAS Australia premieres Monday October 19 at 7.30pm on Channel 7
