Channel Nine’s Jayne Azzopardi pens emotional letter on pregnancy loss after revealing she suffered multiple miscarriages before welcoming a baby boy via IVF this year

Channel Nine’s Jayne Azzopardi has penned a touching letter to women who have been through pregnancy loss.

The 40-year-old – who welcomed her first son, Joey, with husband Trent Butler via IVF in February – revealed this month that she’d been through the ‘agonising’ pain of suffering multiple miscarriages during an emotional interview with Stellar.

And on Thursday, she wrote a sweet message on Essential Baby to those who have gone through the same – telling women they are ‘brave and not alone’.

‘It’s something that can be difficult to talk about, and as a result, difficult for anyone who hasn’t experienced it to understand what it must be like,’ the Weekend Today star said.

‘For many, it’s not the same thing as losing a living breathing child you have come to know and love – but it’s losing everything you hoped and imagined that child to be.’

She added that while many women – such as Chrissy Teigen, who shared her tragic miscarriage story earlier this month – do share their heartbreaking experiences with others, those who don’t are equally as brave.

Jayne penned the note to pay tribute to Pregnancy and Infant Loss day, which takes place on Thursday October 15.

In her post, she also gave tips to readers on how to approach someone who has suffered from pregnancy loss.

She said to ask the person if they want to talk about it, adding that sometimes a simple ‘I’m so sorry, what do you need?’ can be the best response.

‘So talk about it if you want to. Or keep it to yourself. But remember – you’re not alone, and you’re brave too,’ she signed off.

During the Stellar interview, Jayne said: ‘We experienced pregnancy loss; we experienced it more than once and it’s agonising.

‘We ended up going the IVF route, and it can be very lonely.

‘You also know there are people wondering when you’re going to be pregnant, which is why you keep that journey private. Because you almost don’t want to make other people sad as well.’
