‘To see him gasping for air was terrifying’: Frankie Bridge rushed her son Parker, 6, to A&E after suffering a croup attack

Frankie Bridge has revealed her son Parker was taken to hospital after having an attack of croup.

The singer, 31, shared a snap of her eldest son, six, sleeping on her on Wednesday as she detailed his horrifying experience with croup – a condition that affects children’s airways and leaves them struggling to breathe.

She wrote: ‘Was in A&E last night with this little guy, with yet another croup attack. Doesn’t matter how many times it happens. To see someone gasping for air is always terrifying.

‘Breaks my heart. But he’s absolutely fine now,  all just very sleepy.’

Croup is a childhood condition that makes it difficult to breathe, and causes a hoarse voice and barking cough. It affects the windpipe, airways to the lungs and the voice box.

The beauty also posted a snap of younger son Carter, five, with the caption: ‘This guy however slept all night. Had no idea what happened. So has me up after three hours and is full of beans.’

Back in November 2017 Frankie left ‘scared half to death’ after then four-year-old Parker was taken ill and rushed to hospital with croup.

Sharing a snap of herself cuddling Parker, the ’emotionally drained’ star explained that she missed the ITV gala to look after her ‘little man’.

Explaining their emotional rollercoaster, Frankie posted an Instagram photo of Parker wrapped his arms around her.

She wrote: ‘The face of a proud emotionally drained Mum who’s child has been really poorly and scared her half to death and a child who is the prime example of how well and quickly they bounce back.

‘This little man is so full of love and this surprise hug felt more amazing than he will ever know… not sure who was looking after who…?

‘No ITV gala for this mumma tonight. All home now so cuddles and Christmas movies are the order of the day. Croup is not our friend. #family #love #son #mum #nhs.’

Last month Frankie’s ‘sensitive and anxious’ son Parker broke down in tears ahead of his first day back at school.

The former Saturdays singer posted a candid Instagram picture as she cuddled her eldest child, six, when it ‘all got a bit much for him’ as he prepared to go back in after the extended summer break.

Admitting there had been ‘a lot of tears’ from both her and Parker, mother-of-two Frankie reassured fans that her little boy was ‘absolutely fine’ by the time she and husband of six years Wayne, 40, dropped him off.

Frankie cuddled Parker in the doorway of her Surrey home as she reassured him about the new school term, while younger son Carter, five, played in the background.

Frankie captioned the snap: ‘Not all back to school pictures are happy ones. Parker is definitely my sensitive and anxious child and it all got a bit much for him this morning.

‘There were lots of tears from him… which inevitably meant lots of tears from me.

‘He was absolutely fine by the time we dropped him off though so hopefully he’ll have a good day. My big boy might be going into year 2… but he’s still my baby boy.’
