Paul Knightley reveals he’s thinking about proposing to Sam Faiers

They’ve spent lockdown at home together with their two children Paul, four, and two-year-old Rosie.

And Paul Knightley has now revealed that marriage could be on the cards for him and Sam Faiers, 29, during Thursday’s finale of Mummy Diaries.

Speaking with Billie’s husband Greg Shepherd, Paul joked that he might get his long-term girlfriend ‘a ring for her birthday’ in December.

Responding to dad-of-two Greg’s wish for another big event, Paul agreed the family needed a wedding to celebrate and joked he may get Sam ‘a ring for her birthday’.

After laughing, he went on to explain: ‘Maybe next year, or the year after – we’ll let her get into her 30s first’

The hunk continued: ‘During lockdown, and I didn’t think we could get closer, but we did and I think we’re one step closer to getting married.’  

The two men had been chatting about how they’d celebrate Sam’s impending 30th, with them agreeing it is a big birthday.

Paul asked Greg what he did for Billie’s, with him replying that he hit Bond Street to find a special gift she could keep forever.

Sam has dropped hints that she’s ready to tie the knot with Paul before and while appearing on Lorraine in August said she’s looking forward to having their children as part of the wedding.

After being grilled about whether they have any nuptials in the diary, Sam said: ‘I hope so – two kids, five years, two big moves together. I hope so soon!’

Sam and Paul started dating in 2014 and they have two children – Paul Jr, four, and Rosie, two.

Talking about her plans for their future wedding, she added that she wants the youngsters as part of the day.

Sam added: ‘I quite like it, when we do get married one day, it’s memories. It’s nice to know they will remember mummy and daddy getting married.’ 

Meanwhile elsewhere on Thursday night’s Mummy Diaries episode, Sam also discussed plans for turning 30.

She revealed that she want’s to spend lots of time with her family – but cheekily adding ‘some diamond earrings would be nice too’.

The star also revealed that she has a bucket list, with a skiing trip and climbing a mountain making the to-do list. 

The couple also supported each other as their eldest, son Paul, went to school for the first time. 

Sam was seen breaking down while her partner tries to hold it together during drop off, as Sam says: ‘It’s really exciting but it is really hard because that’s it now. It’s a lot to adjust to. We’re such attachment parents that it is really hard’.

As Sam and Paul Sr. drive their son to school, the tot adorably says to his mum: ‘Are you doing happy tears?’, to which she responded: ‘Happy tears!’

At the gate, Sam said: ‘Can I have one cuddle and kiss? I love you so much’. 

Then speaking to the camera, she said: ‘It’s really exciting but it is really hard because that’s it now. It’s a lot to adjust to.’

In the car, it is clear Sam is overcome with emotion, as she held on to Big Paul’s arm while welling up and saying: ‘It’s so emotional, it’s so sweet.’
