Britney Spears wears bikini on Malibu beach after legal victory

Britney Spears celebrated the simple joys in life on Thursday, seen enjoying a day at the beach just days after winning a small legal victory in her conservatorship battle.

The pop superstar, 38, looked happy and healthy as she showed off her bikini body while soaking in the sunshine in Malibu wearing a tiny blue python-print two-piece.

Making sure to get a head-to-toe tan, Britney’s swimsuit put much of her chest, tummy, and backside on display. 

While not sunbathing, the Overprotected songstress slipped into a pair of khaki short-shorts, a style she’s often seen sporting in her Instagram posts. Turning around offered a look at the Circus diva’s iconic lower back tattoo of a fairy.

Britney added leather sandals and mirrored sunglasses which matched her bikini’s hue. The mother-of-two also wore an eclectic accessory, appearing to have an obsidian arrowhead on a chain around her neck.

The McComb, Mississippi native had her blonde tresses tied up into a messy bun and made sure to protect herself and others from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, wearing a disposable face mask throughout the day trip.

Britney laid herself down on a towel, stretching out and relaxing while working on her bronze with the help of some tanning oil. At one point she could be seen scrolling on her phone, appearing to snap a quick selfie.

But the exercise-obsessed pop star could stay still for long. Demonstrating her dedication to fitness and self-care, the songstress even appeared to squeeze in an extra workout while hanging out.

She was seen with her hands behind her head while doing a bicycle motions with her legs in a modified crunch.

While Britney appeared to be without boyfriend Sam Asghari, it seemed like the star was accompanied by an adorable black dog during her beach day.

After getting her fill of sunshine, Britney got dressed, gathered her things and headed back home.

On Friday Britney shared an Instagram video that appeared to be from her beach day. In the clip she was seen practicing yoga.

It was paired with a lengthy caption that said: ‘This was a much needed break from my house cleaning.’

‘This took me two hours to film because I went to three different locations to find the best lighting …. but unfortunately it was a gray and hazy day … that’s why it looks this way !!! I got home and was like CRAP!!!!’

‘Anyhow … on a POSITIVE note … from the car the surfers look like little ants out there …. but up close it’s like a whole new mystical universe !!!! And yes … that’s ME standing for hours in the water just watching!!!! I didn’t even care because it was so much fun …  

‘here’s to a day of MAGIC!!!! PS … I know my yoga is by no means done perfectly …. because I’m not perfect nor will I ever be !!!! Before you judge go try this for two hours !!!’

It’s possible Britney’s day at the beach was to celebrate her recent small – but important – legal triumph regarding her conservatorship.

Earlier in the week a petition was granted for the popstar to ‘expand her legal team’ in fighting for her freedom.

The 38-year-old singer was not in attendance for the hearing but Jamie, her mother Lynne and her attorney Samuel Ingham were present, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Jamie filed paperwork last week contending the petition as unnecessary spending and that it would cost Spears too much money.

‘Clearly, James’ objectives are either to filibuster the appointment of a corporate fiduciary indefinitely or to dominate the entire process himself, including the selection of the fiduciary,’ Ingham contended last week.

‘The only way to assure that Britney’s voice is heard will be for her to have qualified litigation counsel available in order to place her on a level playing field with James.’ 

Britney’s legal team insists her wants and needs are different than Jamie’s ‘vision of a future in which she resumes performing and leaves the management of her estate completely to him as she did in the past.’

During a hearing last week, Jamie’s lawyer, Lauriann Wright, questioned if Britney could be present for the proceedings instead of spoken for through Ingham.

‘Perhaps it would be best for Ms. Spears to appear so we all know what she’s thinking,’ Wright said. ‘We are not trying to force Ms. Spears into court either.’ 

Ingham responded that Britney’s current mental state is that of a patient in a coma. He clarified that while she is not literally in a coma, she is not able at this time to consent to a legal arrangement. 

Britney objected to her father’s filing last month where he requested to seal court proceedings, as she wants her fans informed of what’s going on behind closed doors.

‘Britney strongly believes it is consistent not only with her personal best interests but also with good public policy generally that the decision to appoint a new conservator of her estate be made in as open and transparent a manner as possible,’ the documents said. ‘The sealing motion is supposedly being brought by her father to ‘protect’ Britney’s interests, but she is adamantly opposed to it.’ 

Jamie has been her conservator since 2008 and stepped down from his role in September 2019 due to his health, with temporary conservatorship handed over to her care manager Jodi Montgomery, but he resumed his duties in January 2020. 

In 2007, Britney famously shaved her head at a salon in Tarzana, California, which many believe to be just the beginning of a tragic spiral where she lost custody of her children.

She was placed under a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold in 2008 after being committed to the psychiatric ward at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, which spawned the need for a conservatorship by her father.
