Meet the man making Rebel Wilson sweat away the pounds: Celebrity personal trainer Jono Castano shows off his impressive six-pack at the beach in Sydney
Jono Castano is the man celebrities go to when they want to achieve their ambitious weight loss goals.
And on Thursday, the Sydney-based personal trainer proved to be his own best advertisement as he went shirtless at Sydney’s Clovelly Beach.
The 29-year-old hunk showed off his impressively gym-honed body and six-pack abs as he cooled down in the surf.

He showcased his Adonis-like physique in a pair of black boardshorts.
The went solo for the swimming, with his model wife Amy Castano nowhere in sight.
Jono has a host of A-list clients, including Home and Away star Pia Miller, ex-Bachelor Matty Johnson, PR queen Roxy Jacenko, and actors Lincoln Lewis and Jodi Gordon.

But he is perhaps most famous for being the man behind Rebel Wilson’s amazing weight loss, rumoured to be in excess of 20kg (44lbs or 3.1st).
As well as offering a one-on-one training, the Colombian-born fitness expert owns Acero Gym in Kensington, in Sydney’s east.
The former soccer player was recruited by Bogotá’s Academia F.C. at the age of 17.

On his website, Jono describes himself as a natural mentor who gains immense satisfaction from training others.
‘Nearing the end of my football career I began to act as a mentor to younger players. Being able to pass on the knowledge I’d built up over the years gave me a huge amount of satisfaction. I now get that same feeling from training my clients,’ he said.
‘Exercise has the ability to be such a powerful tool – not only do I get to help people build strength and become healthier but I get to see the change in them mentally.’

Jono’s partnership with Rebel – who on track to reach her goal weight of 75kg (165lbs or 11.8st) – has catapulted him into the spotlight this year.
He said on Sunrise recently that he doesn’t use the word ‘diet’ to describe Rebel’s health and fitness overhaul, saying it’s more about finding ‘balance’.
‘Exercise is just about getting the body moving,’ he said, adding that he combines ‘resistance and cardio’ when training with Rebel.

He recommends 45 minutes of exercise five days a week, combined with a healthy diet, in order to achieve weight loss.
The segment came after Rebel revealed she was just 6.5lbs or three kilograms away from reaching her goal weight.
Jono and Rebel have become good friends over the course of her weight loss journey. He and wife Amy even hosted an early 40th birthday dinner for Rebel in Los Angeles back in February.
