Kathie Lee Gifford reveals she’s not ‘actively looking’ for romance: ‘If I fall in love again it will be because God just made it happen’

Five years after the death of her second husband Frank Gifford, Kathie Lee Gifford revealed she’s not ‘actively looking’ for love.

The 67-year-old TV personality opened up to Page Six on Thursday, revealing that she has gone on a few dates in the past year.

Still, she didn’t feel a connection with any of those dates, going so far to reveal that if she fell in love again, it would be due to a higher power.

‘I think I dated four different gentlemen and they’re all great guys but they’re not the guy for me,’ Gifford said during the interview from her home in Nashville.

‘If I fall in love again it will be because God just made it happen,’ she added, while promoting her new movie Then Came You, which she also wrote.

The film follows Gifford’s character Annabelle, a lonely widow who travels the world with her husband’s ashes, to visit the places they both loved in their favorite movies.

She encounters an innkeeper in Scotland (Craig Ferguson) on her first stop, which changes her life forever.

Gifford describes the film as, ‘a romantic comedy for people who have given up on romance and don’t think anything’s funny anymore.’

While there may be similarities between her character Annabelle and herself, she revealed there is little she has in common with her character.

She said that Annabelle is not a ‘woman of faith’ like she is, though Kathie Lee was ‘dying of loneliness’ like Annabelle is in the film.

‘I wanted to write really for the first time about people who don’t know yet that God loves them,’ she added.

‘They’re really wonderful good people doing the best they can do on their own and I have so many friends like that and I love them, they’re dear,’ she said.

Kathie Lee Gifford had two children with Frank Gifford, Cassidy and Cody, who were both married earlier this year, though she said she’s not waiting for grandchildren.

‘I never thought I’d be married much less have children, much less have grandchildren,’ Gifford said.

‘When you let go of your own plan and let God direct your life it’s amazing, he does a much better job at it than we do!’ she added.
