‘I’m terrified it will happen again’: Nicole Kidman shares her fears following the ‘sudden’ deaths of several close family members and friends over the years

Nicole Kidman is one of Hollywood’s most in demand actresses.

But on Saturday, the 53-year-old star has revealed that behind-the-scenes she still suffers from fears.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, the Aussie native revealed that the ‘sudden’ deaths of several close family members and friends over the years have deeply affected her.

‘I’ve been given death as a very sudden thing. I’ve not nursed someone through a slow death, I’ve just had people taken,’ she told the publication.

‘I’ve now had it happen repeatedly, I almost get scared saying it because I get terrified it’s going to happen again. I still have a lot of fear of that.’

Shortly after she filmed Stanley Kubrick’s, Eyes Wide Shut in 1999, the director died from a heart attack.

In 2005 her friend Robert McCann passed away and in 2015 her brother-in-law Angus Hawley died while on a business trip.

And, one of the toughest blows came when her father, Dr Antony Kidman, died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 2014.

The Big Little Lies star revealed that these deaths have made her ‘unbelievably uncertain’ and she has been working with a therapist to ‘deal with it’ her fears.

‘It’s made me unbelievably [uncertain] in the world where I go … there’s an instability to the ground and to what’s here. Everything can be taken tomorrow. So that’s what I operate from’ she added.

It’s no doubt this attitude that fuels Nicole’s incredible business drive, which has seen her launch her own production company Blossom Films.

She is currently based in Australia with her husband Keith Urban and their two children, Sunday Rose and Faith, to work on the production of her upcoming TV series, Nine Perfect Strangers.
