Miley Cyrus reveals she’s working on an album of Metallica covers

She’s covered Blondie, The Cure and The Cranberries.

And now, it seems, Miley Cyrus is making a Metallica tribute album.

The pop star, 27, belted out the heavy metal band’s Nothing Else Matters at Glastonbury in 2019 and in the new issue of Interview magazine, she’s revealed she’s working on a whole collection of songs by the rockers.

New direction: Miley Cyrus has revealed to Interview magazine that she is currently working on an album of Metallica covers

‘We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited,’ she explained.

She doesn’t say which songs will be covered or when the album might be released.

Metallica was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 and is one of the most commercially successful bands of all time.

The band has won nine Grammy Awards and its last six studio albums have consecutively debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, the former Hannah Montana star shared that she believes she’s had an encounter with aliens.

‘I had an experience, actually,’ Miley told Interview. ‘I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO.’

She added, ‘I’m pretty sure about what I saw, but I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax.

‘But the best way to describe it is a flying snowplow.’

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker went on: ‘It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow. I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real.’

The National UFO Reporting Center, which follows claims of odd flying objects, reported that it received almost 6,000 sightings in 2019.

Miley said the experience was so shocking that it left her unable to ‘look at the sky’ for days, because she feared the extra-terrestrials might return.

She added: ‘I was shaken for, like, five days. It f***** me up. I couldn’t really look at the sky the same. I thought they might come back.’

However, she insisted she ‘didn’t feel threatened’ by the unidentified flying object.

Speaking to Rick Owens for Interview magazine, she said: ‘I didn’t feel threatened at all, actually, but I did see a being sitting in the front of the flying object.

‘It looked at me and we made eye contact, and I think that’s what really shook me, looking into the eyes of something that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around.

‘But you’re so right to say that it’s a form of narcissism to think that we’re the only things that could be in this vast universe.’
