Sam Thompson reveals he’s going to therapy to deal with Zara McDermott’s betrayal after she admitted to cheating on him
Sam Thompson has revealed he has been going to therapy to help deal with the bitter demise of his 18-month relationship with Zara McDermott.
The Made In Chelsea star, 28, was left reeling after learning from a mutual friend Zara, 23, had cheated on him during her stint on Celebrity: X Factor around six months into their romance.
Sam, who has been vocal about his past struggles with anxiety and mental health, talked about how therapy helps him be able to get through the shocking betrayal.

Sam told OK! Magazine: ‘I’ve got an incredibly awesome snuggle of people around me. I think that also I try and look at the good things in life and I wake up every morning and say what I’m grateful for.
‘It’s such an amazing way of starting your day. I also get therapy. I believe a lot of people should, just with the day and age we’re in. There’s so much pressure on us as a society and it’s hard.
‘The one I’ve got now, I’ve only had about six months. But then I had one before that for a short while.’
Sam added he goes whenever he feels stressed, and finds going once a week really valuable for his mental health.

On Monday’s Made In Chelsea, Zara broke down in hysterical tears during a face-off with her wounded ex Sam, who branded her ‘seedy’ for her infidelity.
It was revealed last month that she had been embroiled in an extra-curricular romance during her time on The X Factor, and even though the hunk finally confronted and ultimately dumped her – she continues to beg for his forgiveness.
During the explosive show, the former education policy advisor finally admitted to the widely-spread rumours as she broke down in tears while telling Sam’s best friend Jamie Laing about her indiscretion – leaving him outraged.

Sitting at a dinner, Zara said through tears: ‘I did something really bad around a year ago. I slept with someone!’
Later in the episode, the ASOS star broke down while talking to her partner, who lashed out at her ‘seedy’ and ‘consistent s**gging’ with another person.
Sam even made the explosive reveal that during their August holiday in Marbella, she was still ‘liking’ the other man’s Instagram posts.
