Zac Efron’s girlfriend spent time with Liam Hemsworth following split from Miley Cyrus

She’s the Australian beauty who has captured the nation’s attention after snagging Byron Bay’s latest A-list expat.

But Zac Efron isn’t the only Hollywood hunk former waitress Vanessa Valladares has been linked to, with Australian A-lister Liam Hemsworth also understood to have spent time with the brunette.

Efron, 33, first met the part-time model when she was waiting tables in Byron Bay back in July, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.

The Greatest Showman star, who is said to be ‘riding out’ the coronavirus pandemic in Australia, even cancelled his return flight to LA in August and applied for a visa extension in order to stay in the country. 

Ms Valladares, 25, a well-known Byron Bay it-girl, is believed to have also struck up a friendship with Aussie heartthrob Liam following his high profile split from American singer Miley Cyrus.

Multiple sources told Daily Mail Australia they’d heard the pair briefly dated following his split from Cyrus in August last year.

Hemsworth also lives in the beachside town of Byron Bay, and has since moved on with Gabriella Brooks – who he has been dating since the start of this year.

The Aussie actor’s relationship with Cyrus spans back to 2009 where the pair met during filming for The Last Song.

After announcing their engagement in 2012, the couple split a year later only to reunite in 2016 and marry at the end of 2018.

Cyrus since dated Australian singer Cody Simpson but the pair called it quits in August, 2020. 

Efron and Ms Valladares have been spotted out and about on a series of occasions after publicising their relationship including a visit to Sydney.

They even enjoyed a romantic trip to the Gold Coast on Wednesday, their first time into Queensland since the state’s coronavirus border bubble expanded.

A former colleague of the brunette beauty said her laid back attitude likely helped her attract the attention of Efron.

‘She’s super chill and a super cool chick,’ they said.

When asked if they were there to witness the first meeting between the couple, the staff member replied: ‘I won’t say anything about that’.

Valladares has since quit her role as a waitress at the Byron Bay General Store cafe and has modelled for Australian brands such as Spell.

The cafe has since been swarming with customers on the daily. 

Efron and the 25-year-old were also seen skiing down the slopes at popular resort Thredbo back in early September. 

The pair recently celebrated the actor’s 33rd birthday in Byron Bay with a list of star-studded guests including Liam and older brother Chris Hemsworth and radio host Kyle Sandilands. 

Sandilands, 49, who has been friends with the Hollywood actor for years, offered a rare insight into his romance with Valladares, whom he described as a ‘lovely, sweet’ girl. 

‘He absolutely loves Australia. He’s in love with this girl, Vanessa. They’re a beautiful couple. They do everything together. They’re just sweet,’ Kyle told co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and newsreader Brooklyn Ross on Monday.  

‘They seem really sweet and really settled and nice,’ he added. 

Kyle also explained that Efron had ‘no idea’ his birthday bash was happening and that it was actually Valladares who had organised the surprise event. 

‘Vanessa invited me. You couldn’t get a lovelier, sweeter girl. She knew everything, and she put everything together. She’s a sweetheart,’ he said. 

Efron is expected to eventually return to America where he’s scheduled to film the Disney+ remake of Three Men and a Baby.
