This year’s coronavirus lockdown orders have forced him to take a break from his global movie star commitments.

And Hugh Jackman made the most of his time off as he enjoyed a low-key stroll with his dogs, French bulldog Dali and poodle mix Allegra, in downtown Manhattan on Saturday.

The 52-year-old wore a protective face mask and wrapped up in a black coat during his outing.

Hugh added a grey shirt and black trousers to his off-duty look as he braved the emerging chill in the Big Apple.

While the COVID pandemic has brought the entertainment industry to a halt this year, Hugh celebrated his film Bad Education winning a Creative Arts Emmy last month.

Even the usually hard to please critics couldn’t speak highly enough of Hugh’s performance, with USA Today branding it ‘great acting’, while Decider called it an ‘Oscar-worthy role’.

Hugh will next be seen alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Thandie Newton in the sci-fi romance movie, Reminiscence, next year.

He has also signed on to star in the biographical movie Enzo Ferrari which is currently in pre-production.

Furthermore, Hugh is rumoured to have signed on to Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur’s drama, The Good Spy.

On the personal front, Hugh recently rang in his milestone 52nd birthday.  

Hugh has been married to Deborra-lee Furness since 1996. They are parents to two adopted children, Oscar, 20, and Ava, 15.

Last month, Deborra-Lee blasted the persistent rumours about her husband’s sexuality, labelling them ‘mean-spirited’ during an interview on Anh’s Brush with Fame.
