SAS Australia’s Firass Dirani raises a cocky smile as he enjoys cocktails and live music in Sydney

He’s been the talk of the town this week, thanks to his shocking feud with SAS Australia co-star Shannan Ponton.

But Firass Dirani ignored the drama as he stepped out on Thursday, enjoying an evening of cocktails and live jazz with a male pal in Sydney.

The 36-year-old appeared in high spirits as he raised a cocky smile for the cameras, sporting a casual grey T-shirt, a pair of beige chinos and a patterned scarf draped around his neck.

He teamed his look with black sneakers and a pair of clear spectacles.

Firass didn’t appear to give any thought to the ongoing drama, as he shared numerous videos inside the venue enjoying a meal of escargot while listening to some smooth jazz.

His appearance comes after he fired back at former Biggest Loser star Shannan, who had labelled Firass a ‘sociopath’ following their appearance together on SAS Australia.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Firass branded Shannan a ‘redneck’, and took aim at his Maori tattoos.

‘I find it strange where this vile aggressive labelling behaviour is coming from? I suspect there’s more prejudice against me than I imagined,’ Firass said.

‘Feels like a redneck to me. Him and his followers. That’s called a line in the sand.’

While Shannan, 46, and Firass clashed on the show, their feud has now escalated as new episodes have aired on Channel Seven.

‘I honestly believe that he’s a sociopath in his behaviour,’ Shannan said of the House Husbands star on Wednesday to News.com.au.

‘Time and time again, we said, “Listen mate, you’ve got to stop this behaviour.” And he said, ‘What behaviour?’

The Underbelly actor responded with a swipe at his co-star’s inkings: ‘What’s with his Maori tattoos?

‘You’re embarrassing a whole culture. You are not worthy of such ancestral powerful artwork. You don’t even fall on the coattails of such warriors. You culture vulture.’

Shannan’s muscular arms and legs have intricate Maori patterns with tribal-style designs and elements.

In 2014, Shannan addressed his tattoos in a magazine interview: ‘My tattoos all have meanings, and stem back to when I was a builder and I worked with many Maori guys. I developed a real respect for the Maori culture and their philosophy on life.’

‘The whinging must stop. It’s a show – curated, edited and engineered. Wake up! I am not complaining about anything I have seen on the show. I love it!’ Firass continued, claiming Shannan was having a ‘testosterone tantrum’.

‘We were there to be put under pressure, and see how much we can handle, not gossip and whinge like school kids.’

Shannan isn’t the only co-star Firass has been feuding with on the show – as he also hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with Australian comic Merrick Watts. 

On Friday, the comedian called into the The Kyle and Jackie O show and locked horns with Firass, after the Underbelly star revealed on air how his rivals had tried to vote him off the military-style show. 

‘I don’t have a problem with you Merrick, I just felt like I was a little singled out and you were trying to baby me,’ Firass explained.

Merrick hit back, saying that the actor had, in fact, behaved like a child.

‘Yeah, because I’m a dad, Firass, and you’re a child, that’s why,’ he said bluntly.
