Ms Zhang had received a box of sweet potatoes from her friend on Sunday. She left the parcel home unopened before heading to the gym.

After returning home, the woman was shocked to find that the package had been ripped open by her Corgi with half-eaten sweet potatoes left inside.

‘I was really upset,’ Ms Zhang told MailOnline. ‘I called the dog over and started scolding her.’

While trying to discipline the naughty pet, the Chinese woman was amused by something she suddenly spotted and captured the moment with her phone.

‘I was actually really irritated, but as soon as I saw her shaking legs and terrified look, I thought it was really funny. I immediately stopped feeling angry.

‘I think she was feeling nervous and guilty after being caught,’ the pet owner added. ‘She would get like this when I raise my voice to tell her off.’

The footage also amused hundreds of thousands of netizens after Ms Zhang shared it yesterday on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok.

Another user replied: ‘Her eyes looked calm but her little legs gave her away.’

Corgi Tutu is not the only one that has mastered a guilty face.

This Husky called Oreo also tried to get out of trouble with a ‘sorry’ look after being ripping its owner’s leather sofa to pieces while left home alone in China.

The Chinese pet owner was shocked to find the wreckage of his couch with shredded yellow foam scattered around his living room as he returned home.

After being caught, Oreo is seen in a clip lying on the destroyed sofa while looking guilty, seemingly asking for its owner’s forgiveness.
