Let the era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Chrisses continue.
Variety reports that Chris Pratt, star of Guardians Of The Galaxy, will reprise his role from that MCU franchise as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the next installment of the Thor series.
Thor: Love And Thunder, starring fellow MCU actor Chris Hemsworth, is the fourth Thor film.

The crossover is unsurprising, especially since the last time fans saw Pratt’s charming if somewhat bumbling hero was in the end of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame on board the same spaceship as Hemsworth‘s Thor.
The casting is good news due to the fact that it was unclear exactly when Pratt would again don his Star-Lord helmet and suit, as the next installment in the Guardians Of The Galaxy series was delayed due to a shakeup in connection with parent production company Disney and the franchise’s director, James Gunn.
On the Thor front, Love And Thunder is the follow up to 2017’s massively successful third installment in the series, titled Thor: Ragnarok.
The crossover is unsurprising, especially since the last time fans saw Pratt’s charming if somewhat bumbling hero was in the end of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame on board the same spaceship as Hemsworth‘s Thor
Like that film, the fourth Thor movie will be directed by Taika Waititi.
Notably, Love And Thunder will welcome back Oscar winner Natalie Portman to the franchise, who last played her role of Jane Foster in the franchise’s less successful second chapter in 2013, titled Thor: The Dark World.
And in the new film, she is said to be taking on the mantle of Thor, thereby becoming the first female actor to do so.
Another Academy Award winner set to appear in Love And Thunder is Christian Bale, who is said to be cast in an as-yet undisclosed villainous role.

Pratt’s appearance in the film is far from the first or last crossover casting in the MCU — apart from the Avengers, which draws on all the franchises in the universe, actors from one storyline will frequently appear in others.
An example is Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange.
He will be appearing in the next Spider-Man film, ahead of the second installment in his own franchise, titled Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
Thor: Love And Thunder is currently slated for release in February of 2022.
