‘Loop the belt loops on one side around the hanger,’ Mila said in a video.

Then, fold the jeans upwards and tuck in the end of the jeans over the top of the hanger.

After this, all you need to do is hang your jeans on the hanger inside your wardrobe.

‘This looks amazing,’ one commenter posted.

While jeans obviously look good when they are hung, there is no real need to hang them and they can be folded inside a drawer as their sturdy material means they will usually hold their shape.

The technique involves turning all clothing hangers the same way at the start of the year and as pieces are worn, the hangers are turned the other direction.

Anita recommends you set an alarm to check back in with your wardrobe in six months time – to see which pieces have been worn and which haven’t.

‘In six months I am going to know exactly what I’ve worn.

‘Everything that hasn’t been turned around will be donated or sold,’ she said.

Anita promises that this will lead to a calmer and more streamlined wardrobe – and it may even stop you from buying unnecessary items.

Others swear by the Marie Kondo method for sorting your wardrobe.

This is a system of simplifying and organising your home by getting rid of physical items that do not bring joy into your life.

It was created by the organising consultant Marie Kondo and described in detail in her best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.

To try the Marie Kondo method for yourself, simply tidy all at once, visualise the destination to where you’re going with your tidying up, determine whether the item you’re getting rid of ‘sparks joy’ and tidy by category, not location.
