Once couples became engaged, they were allowed to meet for the first time, resulting in a romantic getaway to Mexico, moving into their own apartment together and meeting each other’s families ahead of their wedding in days.

And from the 30 original couples, the quest for love didn’t result in a happy ending, with only five engaged couples moving on to the romantic retreat in Mexico.

While things took an even more explosive twist when Cameron and Lauren, and Barnett and Amber were the only couples out of five to say ‘I do’.

The show was filmed in 2018 and it almost looked as though Barnett was going to jilt Amber after he said he was ‘freaking out’, had ‘cold feet’ and ignored her calls.

Cheeky: And despite leaving a very dramatic long pause, Barnett sweetly answered: 'I do, 100%. I can't imagine a life without you,' with Amber joking: 'Good cos you're stuck.'

After waiting at the venue for 30 minutes, Barnett eventually showed up as they tied the knot with the contestant saying: ‘I do, 100%. I can’t imagine a life without you,’ with Amber joking: ‘Good cos you’re stuck.’

The couple then engaged in a very public make out session in front of their guests with the two later partying at their reception, even eating cake out of each other’s mouths.

Yet it was soon clear to see how strong their love actually is at the altar as Cameron started sobbing while delivering his sweet vows.

He said: ‘Every day we have spent together, has been a blessing to me, there’s so much I love about you. You have everything I need in a partner.’

Cutting their wedding cake and dancing with their guests on the dance floor, Lauren concluded their wedding with: ‘I’ve been looking for Cameron for 30 years, and apparently, he was looking for me too. I’m glad we finally found each other.’
