After Leigh-Anne, who was also making appearance on the radio show, confirmed the time span, Perrie continued: ‘And I was like, aww your four year, I just had my 4 year anniversary and I got a Dairy Milk bar of chocolate!’

She added: ‘But do you know what, I appreciate him, we don’t want to rush into it do you know what I mean? But it would be a definitely yes from me I reckon!

When it was suggested by Sonny that Alex had ‘definitely’ already thought about popping the big question, Perrie asserted: ‘Of course he has!’

During the interview, Perrie also went on to credit Alex with helping her to learn dance routines, and accompanying her to rehearsals, as she battled anxiety.

She said of the sportsman’s enthusiasm for her dance routines: ‘He loves it! He absolutely loves it. I remember he came to our rehearsals once, it was a time when I was really bad with my anxiety and bless him, he kept coming to work with me.

‘And he came to our rehearsals and everyone was like “Alex!” and I was in a daze feeling all over the place, couldn’t get the moves and he was like “babe look it’s 1,2,3, whip and 1”. Honestly he’s so sick and a really good dancer and all, he’s so sick.’

Perrie’s most recent interview contradicts her assertion over the summer that she wasn’t ready to marry her long-term beau.

The singer explained how although the footballer is her ‘forever’ she still thinks it will be some time before they walk down the aisle.

Speaking to Metro’s Guilty Pleasures, she said: ‘We always talk about the future. He’s my forever, but I don’t think we are ready to get engaged any time soon.’

Perrie and Alex made their relationship Instagram official in January 2017 and spent lockdown together, before his Premier and Champions League duties resumed.

They did spark engagement rumours back in December, when Perrie spelt her boyfriend’s name wrong on Instagram.

She replied to her fans saying: ‘It’ll be well easier to spell when it’s my second name and I have to write it all the time!’

Despite not hearing wedding bells quite yet, Alex and Perrie have been getting used to family life with their dogs Travis and Hatchi.
