Strictly’s Motsi Mabuse reveals she would have SAVED Max George in elimination dance-off with Maisie Smith if she hadn’t been in isolation

She was replaced by ballroom dancer Anton Du Beke as she isolates for 14 days following a whirlwind trip to Germany.

And Motsi Mabuse has revealed that if she had been in the Strictly judging seat, she would have saved Max George from elimination.

The professional dancer, 39, told  BBC Radio 2 on Monday that she would have sided with head judge Shirley Ballas and kept Max in, saying: ‘I saw that Max had a very difficult routine, he had to control himself quite a lot.

‘If we remember last week with the Simpsons he was all jolly and I think he liked that role and this time he had to be back in control.

“I’m stuck here, I’m almost like Shirley, watching from the outside, maybe I might have saved Max.

‘But you cannot see from the TV screen as well as you can sitting there and being a judge.’

Maisie and partner Gorka Marquez won against Max and Dianne Buswell, who were eliminated in the dance-off on Sunday evening’s show.

Maisie earned 24 points out of 40 for her Cha Cha to Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper with dance partner Gorka.

South African dancer Motsi is in isolation after rushing home to Germany due to her dance school being ‘targeted’.

She worked with police to ‘solve the crime’ and will be improving security at her school.

As well as posting a lengthy caption in German, Motsi shared a snap of a broken glass door at her studio.

She penned: ‘Unfortunately we have no good news. Someone tried to break into our school @motsimabuse_taunustanzschule.

‘We are working with the police to solve this crime. We know we have been targeted on purpose and we will improve security in our school that this will not happen again.’

A Strictly source confirmed to MailOnline on Thursday that Motsi is now back in the UK following her brief trip in Germanyfeur, where she runs the dance school and shares a home with husband Evgenij Voznyuk and their daughter, two.

Current UK lockdown rules prohibit international travel except in ‘limited circumstances such as for work or for education’.

Guidelines say ‘people who live outside the UK but work in the UK and travel between their country of residence and the UK at least once a week’ do not have to isolate.

Viewers have called for Anton to become a permanent judge on the show, which is a sentiment the ballroom dancer would also reportedly like to happen.

The Mail On Sunday reported that Anton hopes his role on the panel on Saturday night could lead to a full-time position.

Friends of Anton say he has been eager ‘for quite some time’ to have a judging role and has been disappointed when outsiders have been brought in.

His chance came after he was the first to be booted off the current series with partner, ex-Labour Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, who said she was ‘pleased he was free to get the job’.
