Tameka’s return scenes as Kim aired on Monday night, with her character thrown right into the drama after learning her half-sister Denise was once again caring for her son Raymond, who she gave up for adoption.

The soap star spoke about heading back on set to Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, saying: ‘Well Kim, I think you might remember some time ago she did a DNA test and she was 5% Scottish – I know I’ve been with the Highland Folk!

‘So she’s been up there all this time and now, and I think it just was a bit too nippy for her so she’s decided to come back to the South for a bit of warmth.’

Kim opted to leave Albert Square in July 2019 after being fired from Denise’s salon Fox & Hair, and struggling to overcome the disappearance of her husband Vincent Hubbard.

In real life Tameka took a break from EastEnders last year to begin her maternity leave, and in July she revealed she’d given birth to her second child, a baby boy.

As ever her return is expected to be packed with drama, especially following the news that Denise’s ex-husband, serial killer Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) will also be returning to the soap.

Funny: She said: 'So she's been up there all this time and now, and I think it just was a bit too nippy for her so she's decided to come back to the South for a bit of warmth'

Tameka also chatted about her EastEnders co-star Maisie Smith, who found herself in the bottom two on Strictly Come Dancing over the weekend.

The actress said her co-star wouldn’t be fazed by the set-back, adding: ‘Maisie knows what she needs to do she’s just churning it out week after week.

‘I don’t know what this bottom two was, but maybe it was a duff duff! If I know Maisie I know she’s alright she just knows she’s alright.;
