Is it OVER for Alf Stewart? New Home and Away finale trailer hints a beloved Summer Bay resident DIES… as Rick Donald – who plays villain Kieran Baldivis – admits he can’t wait to take Ray Meagher’s character down

Ray Meagher has played Home and Away’s most beloved character, Alf Stewart, for the past three decades.

But an action-packed trailer for the show’s drama-filled 2020 finale has hinted that one character might not make it through the final episode – and there’s one piece of evidence that hints it could be Alf.

The show’s newcomer Rick Donald – who plays villain Kieran Baldivis – made some telling comments about his ongoing on-screen feud with Ray’s character in an interview with The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

Donald, who joined the cast three months ago as Alf’s wife Martha’s violent, alcoholic son, hinted he couldn’t wait to take Ray’s character down when he joined the soap.

‘To be honest, I knew I was going to be going toe-to-toe with Ray, and that’s a huge part of why I wanted to do it… to get ripped a new one by Alf Stewart,’ he said.

He added that he’s expecting Alf’s loyal fan base to unleash their fury at him as his storyline gets more intense – but he’s had plenty of practice with that, having played corrupt prison guard Sean Brody on Wentworth.

‘They were fierce!’ he added. ‘The letters they’d write me like “you don’t deserve to be on this show…” believing it was real.

‘So yeah, I can imagine Alf is going to spur on the haters and see them come out of the woodwork and light it up.’

Kieran arrived out of the blue in Summer Bay, after years away from his mother (Belinda Giblin) whom he became estranged from, after she was forced to call the police following one of his violent outbursts.
