And on Saturday, Tom Hanks cut a casual figure as he completed a 2km walk from Broadbeach to Mermaid Beach and back on the Gold Coast, as he took a day off from filming to enjoy some well-deserved down time.
The Hollywood legend, 64, looked ready for action in an all black sporty ensemble, which included a T-shirt, matching loose-fitting shorts and a pair of black running trainers.

At one stage it appeared Tom was suffering from a stone in his shoe, as he took hold of a nearby pole to loosen up his footwear.

Tom and his wife, Rita, tested positive for COVID-19 during an earlier visit to Australia in March.
Speaking to The Guardian in July, the actor described his symptoms before slamming those who don’t take precautions against the virus.
Both Tom and Rita were hospitalised for several days in Queensland and then continued their recovery in quarantine, before flying home to Los Angeles where they continued to self-isolate.
Reflecting on his stay in hospital, Tom explained he was initially worried about his prognosis due to underlying health conditions: ‘When we were in the hospital, I said: “I’m 63, I have type 2 diabetes, I had a stent in my heart – am I a red flag case?”‘

‘But as long as our temperatures did not spike, and our lungs did not fill up with something that looked like pneumonia, they were not worried.’
‘I’m not one who wakes up in the morning wondering if I’m going to see the end of the day or not. I’m pretty calm about that.’
Tom insisted that both and he and his wife have not suffered any lasting effects from COVID-19, revealing: ‘Our discomfort because of the virus was pretty much done in two weeks and we had very different reactions, and that was odd.’
‘My wife lost her sense of taste and smell, she had severe nausea, she had a much higher fever than I did.
‘I just had crippling body aches, I was very fatigued all the time and I couldn’t concentrate on anything for more than about 12 minutes. That last bit is kinda like my natural state anyway.’
