Bec Hewitt’s travel show Helloworld is ‘on hold’ due to coronavirus

Bec Hewitt’s travel show Helloworld is ‘on hold’ due to coronavirus as friends say the actress ‘is hoping it won’t be dumped for good’

She returned to television in 2018 to host travel show Helloworld, after retiring from the spotlight more than a decade earlier to raise a family.

But Bec Hewitt’s dreams of career comeback may be dashed after Channel Seven confirmed this week the program was ‘currently on hold due to Covid’.

The 37-year-old actress is said to be devastated by the news, especially since the program marked her first TV role since departing Home and Away in 2005.

Oh, no! Former Home and Away star Bec Hewitt’s dreams of career comeback may be dashed after Channel Seven confirmed this week the program was ‘currently on hold due to Covid’

She had left her showbiz career behind after marrying tennis star Lleyton Hewitt, with whom she shares three children, Ava, 10, Cruz, 11, and Mia, 14.

‘Bec’s just hoping the show won’t be dumped for good,’ a source told New Idea.

‘As the kids are getting older, Bec is also focusing on her own future.’

But the disruption to Helloworld’s schedule could be a blessing in disguise for Bec, with the insider claiming she has been approached by Channel 10 to appear on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

‘Bec has the green light to go into the jungle… nut she must keep her lips sealed and not mention Seven or Helloworld,’ the spy said.

It comes after another source told Woman’s Day earlier this month that Bec was on Channel 10’s wish list for the show.

‘It’s no secret that producers have been angling to get [the Hewitts] on for years – their combined star power would be an absolute ratings smash hit,’ the insider said.

‘The fact they’re filming in Australia means it will be so much easier for Bec to commit.’

The Australian production of I’m a Celebrity will take over the set used by the UK version of the show.

The campsite is located in Murwillumbah, just north of Byron Bay and less than an hour from the Gold Coast.
