Man, 34, is charged with murder after 45-year-old male is stabbed to death in Croydon

  • Nicholas Jones, 34, was charged with murder in connection with Croydon death 
  • Paul McCarroll was stabbed to death on Oaks Road in Kenley, yesterday evening
  • The 45-year-old was found with fatal stab wounds and died shortly before 7pm 

A man has been charged with murder after a 45-year-old man was stabbed to death in south London on Friday.  

Paul McCarroll died after being fatally stabbed in a house on Oaks Road in Kenley, Croydon on Friday evening.

Nicholas Jones, 34, of Oaks Road, Kenley was charged with his murder on Saturday, November 21.

He will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates Court on Monday. 

Police say the two men were known to each other.  

Met Police were called to reports of a stabbing at a house in the Kenley area at 6.16pm on November 20.

The victim was found with fatal stab injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.50pm, despite the efforts of emergency services.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

A 34-year-old man was arrested nearby over the death of Paul McCarroll, who police say knew his alleged killer.

The suspect was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to a minor injury and then into custody.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
