But her first week as a mother has not been easy, as Shelby had to be readmitted to hospital with pre-eclampsia earlier this week after welcoming Abel last Sunday.

‘It’s really made me feel so special. It’s so difficult for me to respond to everyone individually it would take me too long to reply to you all but just know I’ve read and I am grateful for every single message sent to me.

‘I’m not having an easy ride and still have to be monitored daily and I’m taking so many different medications and vitamins I could probably open my own pharmacy at this rate, I’m rattling as i walk!’

But sounding upbeat, Shelby continued: ‘I’ve got all the best family and professionals around me to look after me and get me back to full health.

‘Baby boy is doing really well, we will reveal him to you soon (he doesn’t even realise how in demand is is haha… can’t wait to tell him when he is older)

On Wednesday, Shelby had revealed that she was back in a hospital bed due to her high blood pressure, but reassured fans her baby boy was ‘fine’.

Sharing a black and white snap from her hospital bed, Shelby wrote: ‘Re-admitted into hospital after only just leaving and getting comfortable at home with daddy.

‘F you pre-eclampsia (baby is fine just mummy’s blood pressure is not).’

Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy complication that causes high blood pressure, which can be deadly for both a woman and her unborn baby if untreated, and can begin from around 20 weeks into the pregnancy.

The best solution is usually an early birth via C-section, which isn’t always an ideal option if the baby is premature.

Symptoms include headaches, blurred vision, abdominal pain, vomiting and shortness of breath.

It usually begins in the placenta, when its blood vessels narrow and do not react to hormones properly, reducing the amount of blood that flows through the body.
