A mother has revealed how her self-described ‘mom fail’ resulted in her five-year-old son coming home with a hilarious set of school pictures that perfectly sum up 2020 in a single phrase.

Brittany Kinley, 33, from Texas, took to Facebook on Tuesday to share her son Mason’s kindergarten photos, which have since gone viral thanks to the photography company misunderstanding her instructions.

‘I’m sure everyone needs a good laugh these days so thanks to my latest mom fail…you’re welcome in advance,’ she wrote in the caption.

The mom explained that she ran into trouble when filling out the order form. She didn’t want her son’s name on the bottom of the photos, but she had to write something in order to move on to the next section.

‘I typed in “I don’t want this” and they freaking printed this…  so now I have like 30 pictures of him with this on the bottom,’ she shared.

Brittany ended the post with the hashtags #idowantthis, #if2020wasaschoolphoto, and #sorryMase.

The founder of Bees Knees Custom Design admitted that she didn’t even notice the mistake until she gave the photos to her family.

‘At first, I was so excited they came in that I opened it and didn’t even notice,’ she told Popsugar. ‘Later that day, my in-laws were over and I went to give my mother-in-law one and we all saw it.

‘In the beginning I was upset because it’s Mason’s first official school photo, but then we all started laughing hysterically and it hasn’t stopped since.’

And they’re not the only ones laughing.

Too cute: The silver lining is that the photos have brought so much joy to others that Mason now thinks he's 'famous'

‘I’m so sorry bc those cost way too much. But… That’s hilarious,’ one person wrote. ‘My family and I would think so funny. ‘Seriously I would call [the] company and ask for another print of the order.’

‘Hilarious! Surely the photography studio knew better than print this though!’ another added.

Someone else pointed out: It’s printed automatically, so you get EXACTLY what you put in. Lol.’

Brittany told Today that she has tried to contact the company to get the photos reprinted without the words, but hasn’t ‘hasn’t had any luck yet.’

She noted that there are ‘no bad feelings’ because it was ultimately a ‘mom fail’ —and the silver lining is that the photos have brought so much joy to others that Mason now thinks he’s ‘famous.’

‘I’ve gotten so many messages from people saying they haven’t laughed this hard all year and that it made their day,’ she said. ‘I never thought it would have that effect but I’m so glad we can spread laughter in a crazy time like this.’
