Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer made a spectacular comeback with their album, CALM, earlier this year.

And bandmates Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Michael Clifford celebrated their enduring success on Thursday by uploading a heartfelt message to fans on Instagram.  

‘Hard to believe we’ve been together as a band for nearly a decade now,’ the hit-makers wrote to their official page.

‘Whether you’re a new fan or have been with us since the beginning, thank you for being a part of this incredible journey with us.’ 

The post was accompanied by before-and-after images of the band posing arm-in-arm. 

The ‘after’ image showed the boys beaming outside together, while the ‘before’ image showed the four-piece outside Sydney’s Annandale Hotel, where they played their first concert together in 2011.

Their milestone celebration comes just days after the Los Angeles based rockers won Song Of The Year at the ARIA Awards in honour of their song Teeth.

It marks the third time the guys have won this fan-voted award, also marking a record for the most wins in this category.

‘TEETH has been voted song of the year at the ARIA awards.

‘We learnt so much about ourselves on the record CALM and teeth is a tribute to high energy rock shows that we all love and miss dearly,’ they tweeted following their win.

‘When you think of the song teeth, please think of going to the gig, please think of enjoying music live and loud. Thank you to our fans and family! Love always.’

It comes as his popular pop group were forced to reschedule their November tour Australian tour until March 2021.

‘While we’re all disappointed to reschedule these shows, the safety of our fans, touring crew and venue staff takes precedence and we know this is the right decision,’ the group said in a statement.
