£175million is up for grabs in Britain’s biggest EVER EuroMillions jackpot

£175million is up for grabs in Britain’s biggest EVER EuroMillions jackpot – which could make one lucky Briton richer than ADELE

  • One player could become Britain’s biggest ever winner if they take home £175m
  • Massive sum could make 1 Briton richer than Adele, whose net worth is £150m
  • The total would surpass that of the previous top winner who bagged £170million

The largest ever EuroMillions jackpot is up for grabs in Friday’s draw, with a total sum of £175million available to win.

If one player takes home the entire jackpot, they will set a new National Lottery record and become Britain’s biggest ever winner.

The enormous sum could make one Briton richer than Adele – whose net worth is £150million – and will bring them near to Ed Sheeran who sits at a cool £200million.

The total would surpass that of the previous top winner who bagged £170million. This winner’s name has never been revealed.

The EuroMillions jackpot is capped once it reaches 200million euros – and once that total is reached it stays in place for another four days until a special ‘must be won’ draw.

Andy Carter – Camelot’s senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery – said: ‘The jackpot on Friday night is truly mind-blowing.

‘A UK winner would be propelled to the top of the rich list and immediately be able to make all of their friends and families dreams come true.

‘Imagine trying to get all of the gifts under the tree this Christmas – unbelievable.’

Up to £800million has been raised by players of the National Lottery this year, which has been used by charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

The £175million winnings could bring one player's wealth near to Ed Sheeran's who sits at a cool £200million

An average of £30million is raised every week for National Lottery Good Causes across the UK.

Players who want to be in with a chance of bagging Friday’s enormous jackpot are advised to get their tickets well before the 7.30pm cut-off point.

Europe’s biggest-ever lottery winners who have revealed their identity to the public are Colin and Chris Weir who, in July 2011, bagged the £161million jackpot.

The couple – a retired TV cameraman and a retired psychiatric nurse – sadly divorced in 2019, after 38 years of marriage.
