Stephen Amell shows off his ripped abs shirtless while stringing lights on a tree with daughter Mavi

He was sidelined by a back injury just days after revealing he had battled COVID-19 in October.

And now, a shirtless Stephen Amell is getting a little help setting up a tiny tree with lights from his seven-year-old daughter, Mavi.

‘She’d catch me,’ the Arrow star, 39, sweetly captioned an Instagram post that shows his little girl hanging onto him from behind while he was stringing the lights on the tree from a step ladder.

Despite taking time off from his upcoming wrestling drama series over the last couple of months, Amell looked to be in tip-top shape dressed only in a pair of blue shirts.

Mavi looked adorable in a red and white-patterned skirt and matching top.

The cute photo was likely taken by Mavi’s mother, Cassandra Jean, at their home in Georgia, where Amell had been filming his new Starz series before his two health scares.

The actor injured his back in late October as he tried to execute a thoroughly rehearsed stunt, according to TV Line.

Amell, who’s best known for playing Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in The CW series Arrow (2012-2020), was immediately assessed by the on-set medic and wrestling/stunt coordinators following the injury.

An investigation revealed that all requisite stunt safety protocols were being observed at the time of his injury.

As part of production, the Starz series is required to have a stunt coordinator and stunt and wrestling trainers on set while the actors perform physical activities.

It turns out Amell has been lifelong professional professional wrestling fan who has made appearances at high-profile professional wrestling promotions, including working a match for WWE in 2015 and for the Ring of Honor in 2017, as well as joining the stables with the Bullet Club and The Elite.

The news of his back injury came just a few days after the Canadian native revealed he contracted the coronavirus, which resulted in the actor having to take a medical leave from the upcoming show.

During an appearance on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside Of You podcast, he maintained he was ‘never worried about the lethal aspect’ of the virus, but did confess to feeling anxiety over ‘letting hundreds of people down,’ who are working hard on Heels.

Production continued while Amell quarantined, a Starz spokesperson told Deadline.

‘I have actively, actively, actively tried to avoid contracting this virus. And guess what? I f***ing got it anyway, so be smart. If you’re being smart, stay smart. And if you’re not, you’re just dragging this s**t on longer for everybody else,’ he explained on the podcast.

Amell said he suffered through hot and cold flashes, a plugged right ear, dizziness and a loss of appetite that resulted in a 15 pound weight loss during three weeks of quarantine.

It turns out the series only had to shut down production for one day as a result of his coronavirus diagnosis.

Along with Amell, Heels also stars Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Chris Bauer, Kelli Berglund, Mary McCormack, Allen Maldonado and James Harrison.
