The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson makes a very crude joke

Too rude for TV? The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson makes a very crude joke that leaves her fellow panellists in hysterics

Lisa Wilkinson couldn’t resist making a cheeky joke during Wednesday’s episode of The Project.

Discussing the day’s news, the 60-year-old mentioned a man in Kansas City who’d decorated the outside of his house with toilet paper for Christmas.

The man explained that it had ‘been a crappy year’ and he simply wanted to ‘wipe the year away’.

‘As years go, this is a year that left skid marks really, didn’t it?’ remarked Lisa.

The comment left her fellow panelists stunned, before they began to howl with laughter at her on-the-nose joke.

Guest panelist Monty Dimond appeared momentarily shocked by Lisa’s out-of-character remark.

‘She’s loosening up!’ quipped panelist Waleed Aly, talking about his normally straight-laced colleague.

It was the second cheeky remark from Lisa in as many days, after she doggedly asked Keith Urban about his love life with wife Nicole Kidman on Tuesday’s episode.

‘Oh, we get on date night, don’t worry about that! No shortage of those nights,’ the 53-year-old singer laughed, before blushing and nodding his head.

After the interview ended, Waleed, 42, couldn’t help but point out Lisa’s unwillingness to let go of the date night question.

‘I’m a probing journalist, Waleed. Have you not learnt that yet?’ she laughed.

Waleed then joked that ‘probing’ was an ‘odd choice of verb’ given their previous conversation.
