Ranvir Singh became the seventh celebrity to depart the dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing 2020 on Sunday, following a dance-off against Jamie Laing.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 43, admitted that she was ‘sad’ not have made to next Saturday’s grand finale with her pro partner Giovanni Pernice, 30.
Her departure from the show means that the line-up for the highly anticipated final includes HRVY, Maisie Smith, Bill Bailey and Jamie Laing.

When asked by Strictly host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Ranvir said: ‘I’m just really sorry for him [Giovanni], he’s worked so hard and been in so many finals that I’m really sorry I couldn’t do it for you. Sorry.’
Giovanni responded: ‘You don’t have to be sorry at all, we’ve both worked very hard, you’ve been an absolute dream to work with. You are a true hero, your job at 3 o’clock in the morning then you come in the room and dance with me.
‘More than anything, you’ve grown as a person and this for me is the most rewarding thing that I could ask for, so well done to you. Well done.’
Looking back on her time on the show, Ranvir said: ‘There’s some really beautiful moments in there and so much more than I ever expected and I’m sad not to be in the final.

‘But at the same time, I am glad that we’ve moved people to tears and the Argentine tango was an amazing moment. We’ve had some really fantastic memorable moments and I know I couldn’t have got this far without you.’
When asked if he had any words for Ranvir, Giovanni said: ‘I’m really hoping from this experience you just feel a better person because you truly are an amazing person inside and out.
‘Yes, you’ve grown as a dancer but more I hope you feel happier in your life because you deserve it.’
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.

Both couples performed their routines again; Ranvir and her partner Giovanni performed their Waltz to Un Giorno Per Noi by Josh Groban and Jamie and his partner Karen Hauer performed their Salsa to Last Dance by Donna Summer.
After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts: Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Jamie and Karen.
Explaining his decision, he said: ‘Well one of course did an explosive fabulous Salsa, the other couple did a dreamy delicious, gorgeous waltz.
‘I think both couples couldn’t have danced those dances better than they did tonight, it was incredible and I want to see both of you in the final. I’d like to save Jamie and Karen.’

Motsi Mabuse chose to save Ranvir and Giovanni, saying: ‘Well this was really one tough decision, we had two beautiful dances, two beautiful human beings and I will save Ranvir and Giovanni.’
With the deciding vote in her hands, Head Judge Shirley Ballas opted to save Jamie and Karen.
‘Well again, this is very difficult because I’ve grown to love both couples,’ she said. ‘I’m getting quite emotional now. Musicality, determination, conviction from both teams, they just gave their all.
‘But I just feel that one couple had a little more determination, a little bit more ‘I’m not leaving without that trophy’ and with that in mind I’m saving Jamie and Karen.’

Saturday night’s semi-final saw Maisie topped the leaderboard with a perfect score of 30 points.
The EastEnders star Maisie, 19, got off to a brilliant start as she and pro partner Gorka Marquez, 30, wowed with the Couple’s Choice hip-hop routine to Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith.
Though HRVY had previously bagged 30 points earlier in the series (and another perfect score this week), it was Maisie’s turn to shine in the semi-final as she gained high praise for her performance.
The actress gave it her all on the dance floor as she and Gorka pulled off a perfectly choreographed routine full of fancy footwork, tricks and plenty of attitude.

The dance left the newly-returned socially-distanced audience on their feet, with judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse particularly excited.
Head judge Shirley hailed Maisie as the ‘Queen of Pop’, gushing that it was ‘flawless’, ‘spectacular’ and will ‘go down in history as one of the best ones I’ve seen.’
Meanwhile, the pair’s second dance, the Viennese Waltz to the song A Thousand Years by Christina Perri was just as impressive, with the two getting just shy of the the perfect 30 with 29 points.

Jamie and Karen earned a respectable 24 points after getting three 8’s, with Jamie commenting that they were at least ‘consistent.’

Ahead of her scores, Ranvir was treated to a special video message of support from her GMB co-star Kate Garraway, with Ranvir saying it ‘meant so much to her’. The host earned a respectable 26 points.

Shirley said that the Jive is a very ‘unforgiving dance’ and if your ‘weight is in not in right place, it can look very heavy’, adding it ‘wasn’t my favourite.’
While Motsi decided to see the positives as she commended Ranvir for daring to ‘try and do some different movements’. She told Ranvir that her ‘confidence is there’, but it was a ‘tough challenge’.
Craig was somewhat more abrupt, stating: ‘The dance did not suit you at all. It was heavy, laboured, your body didn’t look like it wanted to be here.’ Ranvir scored a disappointing 18 points.
Next up was Bill Bailey and Motsi Mabuse dancing a Charleston to (Won’t You Come Home) Bill Bailey, with the comedian already shocking some fans as he revealed in his VT that his real name was actually Mark.
Bill scored a respectable 25 points. His second dance was a Strictly first, with the star performing a Tango to the song Enter Sandman by Metallica. They bagged 23 points for their dance.

Despite being consistently good in the competition, his comments were not the best, with Craig remarking that he was ‘Slightly off balance through whole dance’ adding his right foot was ‘bothering me’.
While Shirley felt ‘a little bit conflicted’, stating that though ‘certain things were marvellous’, HRVY needed to ‘improve the timing of your body.’ The singer bagged 23 points for the dance.
However they did bring things back with their second number, dancing a Charleston to Another Day Of Sun by the La La Land cast, for which he earned a whopping 30 points – his second perfect score of the series.
Strictly Come Dancing’s grand finale airs on Saturday from 6pm on BBC One.
