David Bowie’s widow Iman shared a heartfelt tribute to him on what would have been the late music icon’s 74th birthday. 

The model, 65, took to Instagram on Friday to share a sweet quote as she marked the day, captioning the post ‘#BowieForever’.

The touching quote read: ‘If I had a flower for every time I thought of you… I could walk through my garden forever.’

The post garnered plenty of supportive messages from Iman’s followers, with many also paying tribute to the music legend.  

David’s birthday comes just two days before the fifth anniversary of his death. He passed away following an 18-month battle with liver cancer. 

On Tuesday, Iman insisted she’ll never remarry following her late husband’s death, and she declared the singer was her ‘true love’.

In February’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the supermodel said: ‘David is in our hearts and minds on a daily basis, for all of us. You know, this was my true love. My daughter once asked me if I would ever marry again and I said, “never”.’

Reflecting on her romance with the iconic artist, catwalk queen Iman said: ‘It could not have been more regular!

‘It was a really everyday marriage. He was a very funny, warm gentleman – you know, everyone talks about him being futuristic, but no, he was not, he liked more than anything to wear a three-piece suit.

‘It was a beautiful, ordinary life and that was what was great about it. We could live in New York, pick up our daughter from school, walk everywhere… You know, I wish we had had more years.’

On remembering the Let’s Dance hitmaker in the lead up to what would have been his 74th birthday, the runway legend said: ‘David is in our hearts and minds on a daily basis, for all of us.

‘You know, this was my true love. My daughter once asked me if I would ever marry again and I said, ”never”.

‘He’s hiding in plain sight. His fans are still around, his music is still relevant. And on the day of his passing, I went on a hike and a bluebird flew in front of me. A bluebird, above all things!’

David’s estate has launched an account on TikTok on what would have been his 74th birthday, it was revealed on Friday. 

The social media platform announced that the late music icon, who died aged 69 in 2016, would be celebrated with a new account that shares his back catalogue.

It was also revealed that Bowie’s hits would be available to the TikTok community, with the rocker’s dedicated page celebrating his life with iconic videos from over five decades in the industry.

Working in partnership with Warner Music Group, Sony Music and The David Bowie estate, TikTok has now added tracks like Heroes, Space Oddity, Let’s Dance, Fame, Rebel Rebel, Life on Mars?, and Ashes To Ashes to its sounds page. 

On Sunday January 10, TikTok will also launch TheStarman challenge to mark five years since Bowie’s tragic death following his 18-month battle with liver cancer.

The hashtag challenges users to celebrate Bowie’s life and work by recreating his iconic looks over the years to the track Starman, the lead single from his 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders.
