Stacey Solomon reveals Joe Swash given her some of white flowers used during proposal

She’s been on cloud nine since getting engaged on Christmas Eve.

And Stacey Solomon gushed over her fiancé Joe Swash as she revealed he’s given her some of the white flowers used in his romantic woodland proposal on Sunday.

The TV star, 31, took to Instagram to reveal her beau had arranged for a bouquet of the blooms to be delivered to their home so she can ‘have a piece of the day forever’.

How romantic! Stacey Solomon gushed over her fiancé Joe Swash as she revealed he’s given her some of the white flowers used in his romantic woodland proposal on Sunday

Sharing a short clip of the stunning flowers, Stacey explained how she’d immediately been taken by them at the proposal and wanted to bring them home.

Giving her 4m followers a good view of all the details, the star showed off her personalised ribbon and sweet tag which had the couple’s name on.

She explained: ‘So this just got delivered on the doorstop… Joe bought some of the flowers from the florist that put the flowers up for our engagement so that I could have a piece of the day forever.

‘On the day I remember feeling so sad when he said they would be collected up again and taken back to @Emlouflowers florist.

‘I wanted to see them there every day and never forget them… So this is just everything.

‘I’ll be able to see them everyday and remember 24/12/2020 forever. Thank you bubs @realjoeswashy’

It comes after Stacey, who has been dating Joe for five years, admitted that she has ‘butterflies’ as she prepares for their long awaited big day.

The Loose Women star got crafty on Saturday night and made a ‘globe guestbook’ ready for the attendees to sign.

Stacey shared an image of the guestbook as she said: ‘I’ve seen so many people make cute guest books out of globes, so as soon as I get Rex down tonight I’m going to attempt to me one for our wedding.

‘I’ve stolen the boys globe. They don’t need it right now. As soon as we are aloud to venture out of the house I’ll buy them another one’ [sic]

She continued: ‘This really gave me butterflies making this…’

Stacey demonstrated how she unscrewed the globe from its stand, before spray-painting the stand gold.

She also sprayed some black sharpies in the metallic paint to go in a jar beside the globe, putting sellotape over the tips to protect them.

The star peeled away the map as she revealed the white ball underneath, giving her a clear canvas as she went over the ‘equator line’ with white correction liquid.

Stacey said that she might need ‘something extra’ to cover the black line where the two halves meet, but she ‘thinks she likes it’.

The Loose Women panellist re-attached the globe to the stand, adorning it with stickers reading: ‘Forever begins today’.

Sharing a snap of the final result, Stacey said: ‘I actually feel really teary 😂 it’s so ridiculous… But I love it so much.

‘I need a bigger pot for my gold pens, and I may dab some glitter around the line, but for some reason I quite like the equator line. 😂

‘Knowing one day it will have special messages on it just makes my heart full , wish I’d took a before picture 😭’

Stacey also discussed her upcoming nuptials in an Instagram Q&A on Thursday, where she revealed she is unsure whether she will take the Swash surname when they tie the knot.

She admitted the new name sounds ‘weird’ and she felt ‘sad’ about losing the moniker she was born with because it’s who she is, and relates to her mum and dad, who both share the name.

When one fan asked ‘will you be Stacey Swash’, she replied with a clip while sat beside Joe, 38, and said: ‘I just don’t know…

Joe interjected: ‘What do you mean you don’t know!’, with Stacey admitting: ‘It sounds so weird!’

Clearly shocked by the revelation, Joe said: ‘You’ve been banging on about getting married for years and now…’

While Stacey added: ‘But I’ve been Stacey Solomon for so long!’

Clarifying her position on the name change, she also wrote: ‘Why does this sound so weird? I’ve wanted to marry Joe since the day I met him if I’m honest. But I feel really sad about losing my surname.’

‘Is that silly? It’s my mum and dad’s name. It’s me. It’s who I am. Did anyone else feel like this?’

Stacey also revealed her plans to marry as soon as possible so that some ‘special people’ who ‘won’t be around forever’ will be able to attend their wedding day.

Stacey said: ‘I used to think I wanted to run away and elope. But after losing family members this year. I could not feel more opposite..

‘One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever.

‘And I would do anything to share our day with them. Especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there.

‘I’ve found my dream venue we are just trying to see if the dates work and if it’s possible and I can’t wait to take you there with us when/if we are allowed.’

Marriage quickly turned to baby talk during the Q&A, as Stacey was quizzed on whether she is planning to have another baby with Joe.

First interview since engagement: Stacey made her grand return to the Loose Women panel to a bridal fanfare on Thursday

Sharing a picture of her three sons Zach, 12, Leighton, eight and Rex, 20 months, she said: ‘I live for these humans. They are my heart, my soul, my reason for everything. Joe and I would LOVE more if we are lucky enough one day…

‘But for now, with everything going on we are just trying to our best to keep our head above the waters with our boys.’

Earlier in the day, Stacey made her grand return to the Loose Women panel to a bridal fanfare after getting engaged.

The presenter proudly displayed her engagement ring after Joe popped the question by a beautiful arrangement of roses in the woods, as she told her co-stars she nearly missed his proposal by refusing to go out for a walk.

Stacey joked she wished her new fiancé had given her a hint before they headed out as she thought someone had passed away in the woods when she saw the white flowers, before the former EastEnders star called the studio later in the show.

She was greeted with confetti and bridal music as Jane Moore, Judi Love and Carol McGiffin welcomed her back to the panel, with congratulations on her engagement.

She admitted she had no idea Joe was planning to propose, and was puzzled when he insisted on going out for a walk in the woods with their children.

The mother-of-three explained: ‘Oh Jane, it was really funny, so basically we were all in the house, it was Christmas Eve, I made people wear matching gnome outfits.

‘Joe said lets go to the woods for a walk, and he kept saying and all of a sudden he got really frantic, he said ”it’s getting dark we have to go for a walk” so I start shouting ”boys we have to go for a walk!”

‘We went out and he asked someone to put roses on the trees where our boys run and I thought oh no someone has passed away in our woods. He said shall we have a look and I thought no we can’t do that, it’s disrespectful.’

On how she was overwhelmed with emotion when he finally got down on bended knee, Stacey recalled: ‘I wish he’d given me a hint, he’d given me nothing…. as soon as he said my full name I thought oh my gosh its happening. It’s finally happening.

‘He got down on one knee and I had this really ugly crying face. and he said tell me and I kept going get up get up, and he said well what do you say, and then the boys came and I said yes, yes, yes!

‘It was a shock…I just thought it would be a running joke between the two of us and I thought he would just drag it out for years and we would be like 90 and the kids had left home and then we would get married or something.’

When asked if she’s kicked off preparations for their big day, the media personality confessed: ‘I was planning this for years!

‘I have started a scrap book, it is like meditation, it is something to look forward to… Who knows if it is going to happen this year with everything that is going on, but just to have something in sight for the future.’

Elsewhere on the show, actor Joe and their toddler Rex joined in for a virtual chat, enthusing that while his plans worked out in the end, the lead-up to the special moment was a ‘nightmare’.

The ex-soap star: ‘It all went to plan, but like Stacey said, trying to get the Solomons out the house is a nightmare. I thought I was going to have a panic attack.

‘I was originally going to do it on Christmas Day but Stacey kept pushing…I had it planned for months and months and then she kept saying, ”Oh wouldn’t it be nice if we got engaged on Christmas Day?”

‘By this time, I had already designed the ring, spoken to her dad and her sister, so I thought, I will push it forwards slightly and do it Christmas Eve. I definitely surprised her because she looked absolutely lovely in that forest.’

Asked if he ever feared that she’d decline his offer, Joe explained: ‘I would have been devastated if she’d said no. I hoped after five years and having a baby together, she was going to say yes. But I was so nervous.

‘We have had such a tough year, me and Stace privately, with losing people, my nan and stuff like that.

‘I just thought I have wanted to do it for a long time and there is no better time than right now. It was lovely because all the boys were there and they got to see it.’

Despite being over the moon at how the proposal turned out, the former King of the Jungle said he didn’t think they’d be walking down the aisle within the next year.

The Dancing On Ice 2020 champ joked: ‘To be fair, I didn’t think we were going to get married so soon, I thought I would have a couple of years grace, but by all accounts we are going to get married in a few months…

‘I think Stacey is really keen to do it this year, I am really keen as well because it has been a really tough year and I can’t wait for her to be my wife.’

The loved-up pair met on the set for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! when the artist was crowned Queen of the Jungle and the former EastEnders star hosted spin-off series Extra Camp in 2010, a year after he took home the title.

The duo confirmed their relationship in January 2016, with the auburn-haired beauty stating at the time: ‘It’s going really well… we’re having fun, spending time together and getting to know each other.’
