Lily Allen cuts a low-key figure as she steps out on her mobile in London after vowing to cut down on her ‘addictive phone usage’

She marked the New Year by telling fans her resolution for 2021 was to spend less time on her phone and more time reading books.

Yet Lily Allen was spotted on her mobile as she stepped out in London on Tuesday to visit her local supermarket.

The singer, 35, cut a low-key figure in tracksuit bottoms and a grey oversized jumper as she ran errands in the British capital.

Adding some finishing touches, Lily opted for a black cropped shearling-style fleece and white trainers.

The star styled her signature raven locks into a relaxed sweptback hairdo, she appeared to go makeup-free as she displayed her radiant complexion.

Lily took cautious measures amid the coronavirus pandemic as she wore a protective black face mask for her outing.

It comes after Morrisons and Sainsbury’s vowed to ban shoppers who refuse to wear face masks from entering their stores as supermarkets face calls to bring in security to enforce strict lockdown rules.

The Smile songstress reflected on the toxicity of constantly using the device and admitted many realms of her life suffer when she uses her phone too much.

Having always been candid about her drink and drug battles, including celebrating one year sober in July, in her Instagram announcement she referenced having ‘ditched the drugs, booze and fags’ she would now shed her other vice.

Lily, who tied the knot with Stranger Things actor David Harbour last year, took to Instagram to announce her mission, penning a caption alongside a pouting selfie video with ‘less phone, more books’ written over the top.

Her caption read: ‘I’m gonna try. These things are designed so we don’t put them down. My brain suffers, my relationships suffer, my work or creative endeavours all suffer as a result. I’ve ditched the drugs, booze and fags…

‘So hopefully this year I’ll be able to cultivate a new, healthier relationship with my phone. Wish me luck.’
