The new season of The Amazing Race may have been scaled down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the contestants will still have larger-than-life personalities.

On Tuesday, Channel 10 revealed the first three teams from the upcoming series, which will see contestants race around Australia in a bid to win $250,000.

New South Wales ‘cowboys’ Brendon and Jackson are one of the 14 teams taking part in the action-packed competition.

They are both fathers and have been rodeoing together for more than a decade.

‘We’re just here to show Australia cowboys can do whatever it takes,’ Brendon says in a trailer.

‘If we win the $250,000, the first thing I’ll do is get a new set of teeth. Don’t be fooled by the one at the front – there’s a party at the back.’

Jackson reveals his mate is ‘petrified’ of toads, which is unfortunate because one task involves the men chasing them around.

‘I’ll tongue kiss a brown snake before I tongue kiss a frog any day of the week,’ Brandon says.

Next up is Skye-Blue and Jake, who are siblings from Victoria.

‘I have had a lot of people say, “You can’t do this”, “You can’t do that”. I’ve had to work a lot harder,’ she says.

‘I’ve become very stubborn and very independent because of it. 

‘Getting the opportunity to show everyone that no matter what your difference, don’t let it stop you. You’re the only person that stands in your way.’

The teaser shows the lovebirds arguing about a challenge as Dolor freaks out about having to handle bugs.

Channel 10 has confirmed the Amazing Race Australia will premiere on February 1.

The show completed filming in November and was filmed entirely in Australia, after the Covid-19 pandemic made international travel impossible.

The show will launch after the finale of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on January 31.
