Talking to the Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye at the time, The Crown star said of the film: ‘I couldn’t believe the extent to which the women were owned.

‘These women were the property of their husbands. They didn’t have a choice to do what they wanted to do, let alone love who they wanted to.’

While director, Mona Fastvold, 34, told IndieWire about the movie: ‘These two women are normal women. There’s nothing special to look at in their story: they meet, have a connection, fall in love.’
