Denise Van Outen’s partner Eddie Boxshall has confirmed his ‘soldier’ is hoping to perform at Sunday’s launch show for Dancing On Ice, despite dislocating her shoulder earlier in the week.

The commodities trader, 46, took to Instagram on Sunday to praise his long-term girlfriend as he shared her aims to deliver an adapted routine with professional partner Matt Evers.

TOWIE narrator Denise, 46, who is currently recovering from her injury, was rushed to hospital after suffering a fall during rehearsals on Thursday.

Alongside images of herself in hospital, doting boyfriend Eddie wrote: ‘I’m sure many of you will know that @vanouten_denise had a fall 2 days ago and smashed her face and had a partial dislocated shoulder that’s had to be put back in twice now . 

‘Despite this she still wants to perform in tonight’s opening show as she is a soldier .Herself and @themattevers are having to adapt to a changed routine last minute to help take away any issues with her shoulder.’

The father-of-one went on to plead with fans for their support as he urged them to vote for her via the show’s app. 

Eddie added: ‘She definitely needs our support for the first show so please if you can download the DOI app and give her your vote so we can continue to see her amazing journey so far from someone that had never ice skated before to now being able to perform routines and lifts .

‘I’m incredibly proud of her as I know how difficult it is to even stand up on ice let alone skate on it .’ (sic)

On her anticipated debut, a source told The Sun: ‘Denise had a huge scare, but she’s determined not to let a dislocated shoulder stop her from performing on the launch show. 

‘She’s had huge support from her skating partner Matt Evers. He’s going to be on hand to make sure tonight goes to plan, despite the difficult circumstances.’

American pair skater Matt, 44, also posted his well wishes for his pal on social media, branding her ‘the most improved star’ he’s worked with in the competition’s history.  

The sportsman, who has served as a dancer on the series since its inception in 2006, said: ‘You’ve come a long way baby! 

‘Tonight @vanouten_denise is the night! Out of my 13 @dancingonice celebs over the years you get the most improved star. Proof that through hard work and dedication you can make a change and even learn to skate.’ (sic)

Following the assessment at the studio rink at Bovingdon Airfield, Hertfordshire, she was taken to A&E where she had an emergency X-Ray done.

The procedure revealed she had partially dislocated her left shoulder and damaged her tendons, while she was also badly bruised.

According to the publication, Denise was advised to rest in order to recover and help improve her chances of making her debut. 

In a recent interview, Denise joked she’s getting ‘strange looks from the neighbours’ after Matt moved in with her and Eddie, who she’s been dating for over seven years.

Dancing On Ice, starts on Sunday 17th January at 6pm on ITV
