Orlando Bloom has praised his fiancé Katy Perry’s  incredible performance at President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday in Washington.

The actor, 44, admitted he was a ‘proud partner’ with a ‘tear in his eye’, as he gushed: ”Our little girl will grow up and see her mother play her part in history’.

The singer, 36, who performed her hit single Firework at the event, beamed as she posed beside her actor husband-to-be Orlando Bloom. 

Following her performance, Orlando shared a clip on his Instagram page and gushed he was a ‘very proud partner’ and said their baby daughter, Daisy Dove, five months, will one day ‘grow up and see her mother play her part in a moment in history’.  

Orlando gushed that he was ‘one proud partner’ after Katy’s ‘Celebrating America’ performance, which was held in front of the White House.

The actor cried ‘a tear of joy’ when the pop star belted out her mega-hit during the TV special in honour of President Biden’s inauguration. 

Alongside a clip of his fiancee’s powerful performance of her 2010 hit, Orlando wrote: ‘One day our little girl will grow up and see her mother play her part in a moment in history that we hope will heal, we hope will unite, we hope, we love. 

‘One proud partner here with a tear of joy.’ 

Katy opted for a typically quirky ensemble as she rocked an ivory corset, layered with an oversized studded T-shirt and a floor-length skirt.

The star’s outfit also featured a flowing cape and train, which cascaded to the floor as she posed for a series of glamorous solo shots.

She completed the look with a pair of gloves and white stilettos.

It wasn’t just Orlando who was impressed by her performance, as her celebrity pals commented beneath the post, congratulating her.

Poppy Delevingne, wrote: ‘AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING’ and her sister Cara left a series of heart emojis underneath the clip.

While Dua Lipa, said: ‘QUEEEEEEN!!!’

Katy was among stars such as John Legend, Demi Lovato, and Bruce Springsteen welcoming the Biden administration to the White House with the inauguration concert, Celebrating America.

The Roar hitmaker closed out the star-studded spectacle with a majestic rendition of her hit track Firework before the Washington Monument.

A dazzling display of red, white, and blue fireworks surrounded the obelisk as Katy sang the track, clad in a caped, patriotic dress. 

As she sang, President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and her husband Doug Emhoff watched on. 

Meanwhile, a source previously said that Katy is ‘obsessed’ with her little girl, and being a mom has taken her relationship with the Carnival Row star – who she got engaged to in 2019 – to a whole other level.

A source said: ‘[Katy] has been incredible with her daughter and is obsessed with her. The couple and their love for one another had grown to a level they didn’t even expect since the arrival of their daughter.’

Although she went back to work just six weeks after giving birth in order to shoot a music video, Katy recently insisted Daisy Dove will always be her main priority.

She said: ‘She’ll always be the number one most important thing ever, naturally. But I love being a working mom. I don’t think there’s anything negative about it. It’s like, ‘Wow, you can do that and that?’ All right! That’s a woman, you know?’

And the Smile star has a newfound appreciation for the hard work mothers do since becoming one herself.

She tweeted: ‘Popular misconception: being a mom isn’t a full time job …part 2: when a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of ‘time off…’ she’s coming from a full time job… of being a mom, lol … Part 3: call your mom and tell her you love and appreciate her and advocate for paid family leave! Part 4. I love my job. (sic)’
