Melania Trump ‘didn’t write her own thank you notes’ to 80 staff who cared for her at White House

Melania Trump did not write her own ‘thank you’ notes to White House staff who cared for her family for the past four years, CNN reports.

The former First Lady, who left Washington alongside her husband on Wednesday morning, instead outsourced the the work to a lower-level staffer.

The typed notes – addressed to butlers, cooks, housekeepers, ushers and maintenance workers – were reportedly written in Mrs Trump’s ‘voice’ to make it appear as if she had composed them herself.

The ex-FLOTUS, 51, subsequently signed her name at the bottom of each note.

According to CNN, there around ’80 or so staff’ who received one of the messages.

It has been an important tradition for First Ladies to leave notes to White House employees before they leave the residence for the final time. The First Families often become close to staffers and the notes become ”cherished keepsakes’.

But sources told the news network Wednesday that Mrs Trump has been ‘checked out’ in recent weeks and is ‘not sad to be leaving’ the White House.
