Conor McGregor is shown NO mercy on Twitter as trolls brutally mock his knock out defeat by Dustin Poirier in first fight since AGAIN coming out of retirement

  • Conor McGregor suffered his first knock out loss in the UFC from Dustin Poirier
  • It was an embarrassing and damaging defeat for his hopes of a Khabib rematch
  • The smooth-talking Irishman was mocked on social media after the rough defeat

Fight fans stuck the boot in on Conor McGregor and his ‘American football’ sized leg after his knock-out defeat to Dustin Poirier, trolling the Irishman on Twitter with a host of brutal memes.

The ‘Notorious’ had promised a 60-second triumph and despite looking unusually tense, won the first-round. It all fell apart from there, as the American’s relentless attacks on McGregor’s right leg weakened the favourite.

The Dubliner was dropped two minutes and 32 seconds into the second round, overwhelmed by a hailstorm on punches from Poirier.

It’s nothing new for the Irishman, for whom the brutal mockery after his unforgettable 2018 defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov will never be topped.

He has vowed to ‘regroup’ and ‘do it again’ with Poirier, with both men now having tasted victory over the other.

McGregor was gracious in defeat and paid tribute to his opponent – saying he fought ‘ a hell of a fight’.

‘It’s heartbreaking, it’s hard to take, highest highs and the lowest lows. My leg is completely dead – even though I felt like I was checking them I was badly compromised. It is like an American football in my suit at the minute.

‘Dustin had a hell of a fight. I felt alright in the second round, felt better than him in the clinch but too little too late – my leg was compromised and I didn’t adjust.

‘Fair play to Dustin, I am happy for him. I am happy to compete in these challenging times. I don’t know where I am at the minute. He fought a hell of a fight but what can you do, I am happy for him.’
