Alexa Chung reveals she has quit smoking (again) – but is amused when a health monitoring app tells her she still has 100% bad breath 10 days on

She is often spotted puffing away on a cigarette while she is out and about.

But Alexa Chung told her Instagram followers that she has quit smoking with the help of an app that tells you how your health has improved since giving up the habit.

However, the esteemed fashionista, 37, was amused to find on Sunday that according to the app, she still has ‘100 per cent’ bad breath.

Alexa shared the statistic on her Instagram Stories along with a moody mirror selfie, writing: ’11 days no smoking face.’

The app, Smoke Free, counts down the number of days since quitting smoking as the model revealed she hadn’t had a cigarette in over 10 days and 20 hours.

Other health improvements listed on the app included ‘tooth staining’ as well as ‘gums and teeth’ which had both reduced to 77 per cent.

She wrote over the top: ‘I lied – it’s 10 days. Also this stat’ as she drew an arrow to the breath note.

In a tweet from May 2016, she wrote: ‘I miss cigarettes. They were great. They were also terrible. But they were great.’

She revealed in a tweet from 2018 that she was trying to quit once again, writing: ‘I gave up smoking (again) because as much as I loved them, they didn’t love me back. #unrequited’

This comes as it was reported last year that her eponymous fashion company reportedly lost a whopping £2.3 million and is set for an even tougher 2021.

The model and presenter launched her brand in May 2017, but it already appears to be in trouble according to the latest businesses reports.

The Sun reported that shareholders were forced to inject 1.7 million into Alexa’s firm Alpha Charlie Limited, with more money added in June this year.

The figures are catalogued in public documents at Companies House. A source told the publication: ‘During the year, the directors prepared a three-year plan and the company’s shareholders invested a further £1.7million in the company.

They added that ‘further funding’ had been raised in June this year in a bid to ‘support working capital.’

The findings do not include the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, with accounts going up to March 2020, however, staff numbers were cut from 23 to 21.

The source went on: ‘This has had a significant impact on the business cashflow requirements which the investors have already supported with a fund raise in June.

‘The lasting impact of Covid-19 is not expected to have a material impact on the business post December 2020 but this is being monitored by the directors and they are aware that if the situation worsens then the current cash flow position may change.’

Items from Alexa’s current collection, as seen on her website, includes a pyjama set costing £250, a £290 maxi dress and boots priced at an eye-watering £450.
