A 19-year-old student thought she had won a huge £182 Euromillions jackpot until she realised she had forgotten to buy her weekly ticket. 

Rachel Kennedy from Hertfordshire said she was ‘going crazy’ with excitement when all her numbers came in on Friday’s draw.

The Brighton University undergraduate says she plays with the same numbers every week and was ecstatic with the win.

But when she called up to confirm her win, she was told she had forgotten to buy a ticket that week.

Rachel said she was too busy with her university work that it had slipped her mind to enter the draw.

He wrote: ‘When your Mrs decides to not play the EuroMillons… and all 7 of her usual numbers come up.’

Liam showed pictures of a ticket Rachel had bought the previous week with the numbers matching the recent draw. 

Rachel told LadBible: ‘Everything happens for a reason though, we’re no richer or poorer than we were this morning.

‘Hopefully it goes to someone who is in desperate need for it.

‘Although it’s sad, I think we’ll get over it pretty quickly – not that he [Liam] was getting any of it anyway!’ 

Friday’s Euromillions jackpot had been rolled over five times and has been claimed by a winner in Switzerland.
