‘I was an emotional wreck’: GMB’s Susanna Reid details breaking down in tears after being targeted by Piers Morgan’s trolls when he blocked them

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid revealed she has been breaking down in tears after being targeted by trolls.

Susanna, 50, said that some social media users had it in for Piers Morgan, 55, but seemed to come for her after he blocked them, leaving her an ’emotional wreck.’

She told The Times she would come home and burst into tears when the abusive messages became too much to handle.

‘I used to get a lot of targeted abuse because someone didn’t like what the person sitting next to me said.

‘[Co-star] Ben Shephard is much more like a warm hug, whereas Piers Morgan is like sitting next to a pin cushion.’

She continued: ‘We do fight like Punch and Judy, verbally. We’re sparring all the time.’

Last week, Susanna sarcastically hit back at a troll who tried to insult her and Piers on Twitter.

Susanna joked that the person had created a ‘fun game’ as she guessed what they could have been trying to say in their angry message, which read: ‘Two of you at everything that’s wrong in the country. Pair of c****s’ (sic).

Pointing out the apparent swear word was concealed with the wrong number of stars, Susanna cheekily said they could have been trying to say ‘clocks or chairs’.

Sharing the message to her own Twitter feed, Susanna penned: ‘Oooh this is a fun game. Clocks? Chairs?’

Dozens of her fans soon showed their support in the replies, with one writing: ‘It’s such a shame when people can’t even conceal spell insults properly…’

And another added: ‘Pair suggests footwear, so I think he’s misspelled Crocs (not out of the realm of possibility given how the rest of the Tweet reads)’

‘Maybe he just couldn’t spell so saved himself the embarrassment,’ added a third.

Reaction: Several of Susanna's followers also commented on the mishap, with one saying it's 'such a shame when people can't even conceal spell insults properly'
